Skylights and solar panels add beauty, comfort and efficiency to a home—but they also add complexity when it’s time for a new roof.

Reroofing around these features requires careful planning, proper flashing and coordination to protect your investment and prevent future leaks. This is not the kind of project you want to entrust to a fly-by-night roofer learning as they go.

The Shingle Master has well over a decade of experience working with rooftop solar systems and skylights. We understand the challenges they present and know how to install your new roofing system correctly around every opening, mounting point and transition.

If your home has skylights or solar panels, choose a roofer with the experience to handle the entire project properly. Contact The Shingle Master today at (919) 324-6516 for a FREE, no-obligation estimate.

The remnants of Hurricane Isaias have moved through the Triangle, but signs of roof damage may not appear right away. Even a small leak can take one to three days to work its way through the attic and insulation before showing up on a ceiling.

Over the next few days, take a quick walk through your home and look closely at your ceilings—especially around vents, chimneys, skylights and exterior walls. New water stains, discoloration or damp spots could be signs that rain found a way beneath your roofing system.

Don’t wait for a small leak to become a major expense. Call The Shingle Master at the first sign of trouble, and let our experienced team find the source and recommend the right repair. (919) 324-6516

Not Every Leak Means You Need a New Roof

A water stain on the ceiling or a drip during heavy rain can be unsettling—but it doesn’t always mean your entire roof needs to be replaced.

Many leaks are caused by smaller, isolated problems such as damaged shingles, worn flashing, failing pipe boots or improperly sealed roof penetrations. When caught early, these issues can often be repaired effectively, helping you avoid more extensive damage and extend the life of your existing roof.

We’ll carefully locate the source of the leak, explain what we find and recommend the solution that makes sense for your roof—not simply the biggest job.

If you’ve noticed a stain, drip or other sign of moisture, don’t wait for the next storm. Schedule your FREE 20-Point Master Inspection today. Call (919) 324-6516

A quiet hurricane season is certainly welcome—but don’t let it create a false sense of security about your roof.

Storms aren’t the only cause of roofing problems. Age, heat, worn flashing, damaged shingles and failing pipe boots can all allow small issues to develop quietly. By the time you notice a ceiling stain or active leak, water may have already found its way inside.

The Shingle Master will put boots on your roof and perform a FREE 20-Point Master Inspection. We’ll take a close look at your roofing system, document what we find and give you an honest assessment. You may not need a replacement—a targeted repair or tune-up could be all that’s necessary.

Don’t wait for the next big storm to find out how your roof is doing. Request your estimate bt calling (919) 324-6516 and schedule an inspection today or visit:

Notice a Water Stain on Your Ceiling?

After several days of heavy rain across the Triangle, roof leaks may be starting to reveal themselves. One of the first signs is often a brown or yellow water stain on a ceiling or wall.

Don’t ignore it—even if the area feels dry now. Water can travel along rafters, insulation and drywall before becoming visible, so the source of the leak may not be directly above the stain. Left unaddressed, a small leak can lead to damaged drywall, wet insulation, mold or wood rot.

The good news is that a leak doesn’t necessarily mean you need a new roof. In many cases, the problem may be a damaged shingle, failed pipe boot, loose flashing or another issue that can be repaired.

If you’ve noticed a water stain, call us at (919) 324-6516. We’ll find the source, explain what we see and help you determine whether a targeted repair is all your roof needs.

How much does a roof repair cost in Raleigh?

The honest answer is: it depends on what is causing the problem and how far the damage has spread. A few damaged shingles or a localized flashing issue may require only a relatively minor repair. Multiple leaks, difficult-to-reach areas, or damaged decking can make the work more involved.

The good news is that a roof problem does not automatically mean you need a full replacement. We'll inspect your roof, identify the source of the problem, and recommend the solution that makes the most sense—without pressure or one-size-fits-all answers.

Build of the Week: We’re Not Afraid of a Challenge

Some roofing projects require much more than removing old shingles and installing new ones. Once we opened up this severely neglected roof, we uncovered extensive damage to the decking and underlying wood structure.

That’s where experience—and real carpentry skill—makes all the difference.

Our crew carefully removed the deteriorated material and rebuilt the damaged areas to create a solid, properly constructed foundation for the new roofing system. We don’t cover up problems, take shortcuts, or walk away when a project becomes more complicated than expected. We repair it correctly from the structure up.

If your roof has been neglected, leaking for years, or simply looks like more than the average roofing company can handle, call The Shingle Master. We’re always ready for a challenge.
