Their insurance company partially denied this roof. They had 1 1/2-2” hail. Adjusters need better training and this is made clear by this video.
Do not settle and do not believe them. This goes on across the country daily. Make sure your roofer knows how to handle situations like this.

PSA: When you're getting estimates for your roof repair/replacement, make sure your contractor knows what they are replacing. Too often, estimates are given utilizing lesser quality products than you already have. Just like there are different brands, makes and models of cars, there are levels to roofing products. Be in the know. Don't just accept what someone throws at you on paper. We are dealing with this, right now. When customers gather estimates/bids, they are unaware they are being sold bottom of the barrel products. We don't do that. We identify what you have so your insurance company pays what they owe to replace it so you don't have to settle for a less expensive or lesser quality product. Even it means contacting another contractor who offers a service which we do not, it's just the right thing to do. Once a client knows what they have, they can then make an informed decision on what they want, oftentimes with more payout from their insurance carrier because they owe for LIKE, KIND and QUALITY.
