Well it’s donation time.
And honestly each year we try something new- because the name of the game is try to appeal to the most people and make the MOST money for the cause.

So here.
This year we’re going to appeal to all you custom mini-bar lovers. Wh***ey collectors. W**e connoisseurs and more!

Someone will get to highlight their most special bottles in this custom recreated Radio cabinet into mini- bar.

I promise they don’t take up much space. Maybe a small two-by-two footprint- but they pack a huge design punch!

Custom refinished of course by yours truly. ❤️🙏

Interior has beautiful lighting that highlights the custom golden-copper
Backdrop for your beautiful bottles and glassware! Exterior is stripped down natural walnut and clear coated in satin finishes.

Store things. Serve things.
Enjoy life and be happy. 😍

And we can’t wait to hear the results from this year’s donation to our local Racine Policeman's Ball of 2026!

Well THATS yet another surprise…: 😳
I guess that goes to show you…. Always put together the table BEFORE refinishing

It’s counter height….. 🤷‍♀️
Who knew! lol.

She’s a mighty pretty pairing though. Slightly grey sands stain color and that aged Italian looking plaster base.

So now curious….. do I cut it down or leave it counter height…? 🤔🤔

She does have a bit of a wonderful stately appearance. 🥹

What’s your vote?
#1- leave it counter height (36”)
#2- cut down to normal table height

Sometimes I second guess my weird ideas- and than I sit back and say…. Girl. You’ve been doing this 10 years and EVERY piece has found its correct next home.

So while I wasn’t super fond of the materials this table is made of- I certainly found a plan! Didn’t look right a flat color- but turn that textured beast of a base it into some old Italian plaster and the top and base pairing will soon make sense!!!

Can’t wait for you to see it!!!

Lane Acclaim.
They always have some attitude in the grain structure.
I love it. The depth and saturation.
That’s why we don’t really cover them in stains around here. The contrast IS the piece!

We chemically strip off all the old.
Very CAUTIOUSLY and carefully sand as many imperfections out as is safely possible. And than we apply our absolute favorite oil based hand rubbed finish for only the most elegant look- because these gals deserve better than just some ‘poly’.

Who else could admire this for DAUS!!!!

These sweet little sewing ladies aren’t convinced that age has ANYTHING to do with how you style yourself!
Proof that items from the late 1800’s into the 1930’s can still look darn good even without Botox. 😂👌

She’s not too old- but I’m pretty sure we can do a lil more 🤩 with this than just what it is now!
I’m a sucker for trestle tables anyways.
You can push in ALLLLL the chairs. 🤣👌👌

Plus if somebody wanted to dump it- I’m happy to pick it up.

Pro tip….
Always drive a pickup truck. 🤣👌

Reveal next week.
But I’ll say this.
Lane Acclaim’s are one of those pieces you just don’t do yourself unless you wanna do it RIGHT.

Ad part of a lot of different furniture rehabber groups- the #1 piece I see on there with issues/problems refinishing is this series.
With paper thin veneers on the center portion - finishers regularly blow thru that feature with the sander. Every. Single. Time.

And than they’re stuck with a beautiful table and a big hole in the middle. Wondering what to do next.

Thankfully around here we KNOW better.
So while not every single stain is completely gone- we were able to maintain the integrity of the top with stripping, chemicals and very light application sanding to blend them in a way that this table didn’t lose her beauty! And of course our hand applied oil based sealer that brings out ALL those highlights perfectly! I spy a little ribboning in there too now! 🤩🤩

We’ll reveal her in a few days- but for now…. I’ll take that pop of wood grain as a WIN to end this week off right!

The harsh lights in my shop really mess with the coloration in my pictures- BUT they are the best way for me spot flaws in a finish….. so you’ll have to use your imagination. 👌

Rich chestnut, satiny black, aged bronze.
If you’re looking for a traditional style with class- you’ll find it here.
But hands off, folks.
She’s got a good home….. a home that’s passed her down, maintained the family value and CHOSEN to be adored for another generation.

We are in the business of happiness. Making a cherished item even MORE ‘yours’ sometimes means updating it to fit your style.

And honestly do we really think grandma would be upset that we painted it and changed the red….? 🥹
My heart believes grandma would be thrilled that you’re choosing to USE and LOVE a piece that SHE Herself chose and loved too!

So while we will always protect the base wood with a slip coat of shellac for the purists out there who can’t handle the painted version- she’ll always have a future in this family’s home. And that’s 100% what matters.
