Should be finishing up what's left of the early fall fertilzers and w**d controls, next week. For the most part, the lawns recovered well. There is some sod webworm damage here and there, as we got a very late hatch of those this season it appears. But honestly, the bugs have gotten so bad over the last, handful of years; that I am considering a fall insecticide. Would be optional, but would certainly "nuke" whatever bug might be in the lawn. Anyway, that's all I really have for you right now. Winterizers will be starting the following week. See you soon!

Few updates:

We are around a third of the way through the early Fall fertilizers and w**d controls. Started off as recovery when it was wet, now it is quickly turning into prepping the lawns for
when it rains. Crazy how fast the weather can change. But yes, lawns will be starting to brown out, so if you want to keep that green longer, you're going to need to water, and mow only when needed. Meanwhile, we will keep prepping the lawns. Currently, we are only working mornings due to the heat. Even though my fertilzer is on the organic side, I still don't like to apply it when the temps get into the high 80's. That said, the fertilzer will still slowly release with the humidity, and start insulating the roots until it rains, in which case it will activate much faster, and start recovering the lawn at a quicker rate. You will want that fertilzer there for when the rains come back. That's really all I have. See you soon, albeit a bit slower with the mornings only for the time being.

Just a few updates today:

One, should be finishing up most of what is left of the nutsedge controls tomorrow. Still will have a few lawns to go back through, but that is typical for this application.

Fall fertilizer is coming in tomorrow as well, so we will be starting the next application on Thursday most likely. I call this one the clean up application. Lawns do look good over all, but having green grass in August, can sometimes mean more w**ds too. But, those will be taken care of shortly.

Starting the nutsedge treatments today. So if you are on that list, we will be by soon enough. Also have, maybe a few weeks left on the grub controls. We are almost 2/3rds of the way through those. Then, shortly after that, we begin the early fall, w**d and feeds. Or as i like to say, the summer clean ups. We will see you soon.

Less than a hundred lawns to go. Probably closer to eighty. Provided we don't have anymore weather interruptions, we should be done before the end of next week; which is perfect as I shut down the following week to go visit my freshly born grandson. And once I get back, we dive head long into grub controls. Schedule is a little whacky compared to usual, but it will be fine. Gotta take time for family sometimes, you know? Anyway, see you soon!

Above is a link regarding the browning in yews and or other evergreen trees. I have been seeing this around town. Some in my lawns, and others just randomly. Have even been asked a few times if we hit it with chemicals. This being brought up a month or better from the treatment. No, it is not us. We are hyper aware around edges as most of you know. Some newbies however don't, hence the disconnect and frustration I am sure they may be feeling. But yes, this has starting happening all at once around a week ago, and the above link explains it beautifully. There could also be some needle blight and or root rot symptoms as well, but more likely it is the above. Hope this helps clear up any questions you may have if you noticed this in one of your evergreens.

Have you recently noticed brown patches on your evergreen trees or hedges? We've seen a lot of this damage recently, especially in the Staffordshire and Cheshire area. Don't panic, don't prune, just keep on reading...

Well, we have about 150 ish clients yet to get to for this round. Not terrible considering we have only been going for a month, and lost at least five of those days due to weather. We did end up switching to a pre and post emergent though, cause mother nature can't get her stuff straight. This happened around the halfway mark, so we have been using it for awhile. In other words, the race to get this down before the ground gets too warm, doesn't apply with this. Though, we still need to keep up to jump right into w**d controls at the end of the month. Hopefully the weather plays nice for awhile, but I have my doubts at this point. Anyway, see you soon!

Whelp, I was a bit worried that the super cold snap and snow might mess with the grass, and unfortunately I was correct in my worry. We now have patchwork grass because mother nature can't pull her head out of her...uh...backside. The grass is literally confused on whether it should grow or go dormant right now, hence the patchwork design. This is happening all over town. Don't panic however, as it will eventually resolve itself once the weather finally balances out. For now though, some of us (probably most) will have multi colored lawns for a bit. Say it with me now; "yay mother nature!"

Pretty good start. Close to a hundred lawns done in four days; most of those being larger. Might be getting shut down for a few days at the start of next week though. 85 degrees a handful of days ago, to 26 and possible snow on Monday? Yay Midwest weather. Anyway, we will be back at it as soon as mother nature let's us. See you soon!

Getting close to starting back up again. Have product coming in the start of next week. Trailers going back on, and will be loading the trucks soon after. At the latest, we will be out by the 12th of March, though I may start a bit earlier. Crazy that it is that time again. That is it for now. See you soon!
