Remember i posted about a visit a few weeks ago, the mom, her handicapped son, they were asking about a panel change. I still stand by that, but the conservatory(?) said go ahead and schedule it. Had it scheduled for this AM, i went ahead and grabbed a panel (they have a 12 space panel, i grabbed a 24). I get there and all hell breaks loose! Nothing violent, just loud and yelling. So we canceled the appt, and went to the next customer. I dont need these crazy situations lol.
Our 2nd visit, we went back to the house we found the buried jbox up in the attic, and installed a new bathfan. But not just any bathfan, this thing is like the king of bathfans! Motion detector, timer, 2 speed controls, upgradeable to have wifi control and humidity control. Expensive, but very nice! Whoever put the original fan up wanted that to stay forever, i had to cut a lot of bracing out to get the new housing in.
Once that was done we stopped out at Old Navy to look at some lights, looks like the ballasts died. A couple are emergency ballasts, they have battery backups to keep the lights on when the power goes out.
I didnt fix any, just looked, ballasts are not a stock item, because LEDs are so much better.
Our last stop of the day, a customer had emailed me about an outlet that shot sparks out when she unplugged a fan. Wouldnt you know it, loose connections! Seems to be a trend this week. Removed the outlet, no ground wire. Since we're in a garage it should be gfci anyway, so we replaced that. She had a few other things to look at, adding an receptacle in the kitchen and a dimmer that is getting hot. Quote for the outlet, and quote for replacing the dimmer and getting rid of the incandescent bulbs. She also had us install an gfci under the sink for the dishwasher, the previous model was hardwired. Not too bad of a day, not a lot of pictures tho.
