Customer says theyve got a bunch of outlets not working. First is an bathroom gfci, looks like the wire got nicked and blew apart when it shorted out. And the line and load were reversed. Then an outlet behind the bed gives intermittent issues, its loose and cracked, falls apart when i take the cover off. Then a light switch is floppy, wont snap anymore. Fell apart behind the cover, thats wild. Another outlet is just loose, replaced that too. Then he asks if i know about pool covers, and i dont, not really but ill look at it. Theres a missing limit switch or sensor, wires look a little corroded.. i think its the missing/broken limit, and he dont have the original book or wiring diagram. Ill do some research and see what i can come up with and go back, i have another appt.
Its just an estimate visit, Dr bought a new home and it has k**b and tube all over, wants the lights on the main floor updated and some grounded outlets for his PC and tv equipment. Ill work on that hopefully this weekend.

Up in Mount Sterling today, a couple of add-ons for the house that we rewired about a month ago. They decided they wanted some wall sconces by the garage and the front door, a couple more outlets in the basement, and they are going to keep the bathroom in the basement so they needed a vanity light, switches and an outlet and a bath fan. The basement bathroom we were able to reuse the existing boxes, but had to install fresh the bath fan. Venting not installed yet because somebody's got to replace those burnt up and melted drain lines from upstairs.
The wall sconces didn't have a lot of room on the right hand side of the garage so I just matched the measurements on the left from the right. No siding blocks, the base of the lights were too big. Drilled out a hole big enough for remodel boxes, and flex bit up to the crawl space. Wasnt too bad, lots of insulation to belly crawl in. Got the wires back to the front door switch, now they all come on at the same time.

Back to hannibal, put up a motion light, a wall sconce and wafers in the garage we wired yesterday. Theres also a ceiling fan we prepped for, but not going in until the ceiling is up.
Our next stop, we replaced a broken porcelain lamp socket, and hung another motion light. Talked about installing a camera, an outlet for a towel warmer, and a few other small items.
We stopped at few other places for some estimates, carport lighting, RV outlet.
Finished up the day at our customer with the new gazebo, where we did the fan and outlets earlier this week. He had a flagpole installed and wanted a light installed to light it up. I came off this exterior GFCI, conduit to another box for a photocell, then around and up the porch where we added the light. It turned out ok, im not the best at getting this pvc bent just how i want it. Toss it in the hot box and it turns into a wet noodle. Thanks to my boy braydon for staying out later than normal me today so i dont have to work tomorrow.

Down in Hannibal today, customer had a garage removed, and a new one built. New panel, new interior wiring... but reused the wiring from the house. 8/3 UF off a 40 amp breaker from the house, so were still limited on what activities can happen here. Id prefer to dig up and replace the wiring but cost is a factor so we will hold off a bit. Gonna have to upgrade eventually, they want a mini split.

Service upgrade today, stayed at 100 amp but we replaced the meter and interior panel. Customer was having some issues with power loss, the main lugs in the panel were starting to become pretty corroded. This one went pretty quick, even with me fixing a couple extra open splices in the basement.
Since i got done somewhat early, i went on a call for loss of outdoor lighting. The first lamp only needed a new bulb, the second lamp we tracked down a severed wire in the flower bed. I keep a few underground splice kits on the truck, and a short piece of 12/2uf got them all fixed back up! Kept the wire close to the sidewalk so if theres more digging in the future it shouldnt get hit.
Then one more stop since it was basically right down the street, swapped out a GFCI that failed. Told the homeowner id like to get that box raised up off the porch, but was decided to put a pin in it and address it later.
