Did you know Snake Plants can actually produce fruit and seeds? 🌿🍊

​Sansevieria blooms are rare indoors, but getting them pollinated to produce fruit is next-level! Here is the full process of harvesting and setting up a Snake Plant seed for germination:

​1. Wait for Ripeness: Let the berry turn a bright orange before harvesting.

2. Clean the Seed: Gently peel away the fruit pulp so only the clean seed remains.

3. Prep the Medium: Fill a small container with vermiculite to hold moisture without suffocating the seed.

4. Plant: Lightly press the seed into the medium and cover it gently.

5. Create a Dome: Seal the container with a lid to lock in heat and humidity, then set it in bright, indirect light.

​Now the hard part: waiting several weeks for it to sprout! ⏳

Our latest batch of rare Monstera cuttings have officially graduated from propagation to soil! They’ve rooted like absolute champions and are looking happier than ever in their new home.

Here is the lineup of every variety featured in the video, in order:

Monstera barrieri Fun Fact: Named after French botanist Guy Barrier, this rare South American beauty develops dramatic, deeply lobed, feather-like leaves as it matures.

Monstera 'Cesar Columbia' Fun Fact: Known for its sleek, high-gloss foliage and distinctly ruffled margins, this Colombian collector's item is an eager climber given proper support.

Monstera praetermissa Fun Fact: Its species name literally means "overlooked" or "neglected" in Latin—it was misidentified and confused with other Monsteras for decades before being officially named!

Monstera membranacea Fun Fact: Aptly named for its paper-thin, delicate ("membranous") leaf texture that sets it apart from its thicker-leaved relatives.

Monstera obliqua 'Filamentous' Fun Fact: The ultimate holy grail! This cultivar boasts nearly 90% empty space, leaving behind just ultra-thin, delicate thread-like veins.

🌿 5 Types of Pothos: Part 1

Not all pothos are created equal! 🌱

From creamy white variegation to shimmering silver foliage, these five varieties each bring something unique to your indoor jungle. Whether you're new to houseplants or a seasoned collector, there's always another pothos to fall in love with.

✨ Let's meet the stars of Part 1:

🌿 Pearls & Jade Pothos • Features crisp white and green marbled variegation that makes every leaf unique. • Typically grows a bit slower than many other pothos, helping it maintain a compact shape.

🌿 Satin Pothos • Not technically a true pothos! It's actually a Scindapsus, but it earns an honorary spot thanks to its easy-care nature. • The silver speckling on the leaves gives it a velvety, almost painted appearance.

🌿 Marble Queen Pothos • One of the most heavily variegated pothos varieties available. • The extra white variegation means it often needs brighter indirect light than greener varieties.

🌿 Golden Pothos • The classic pothos that started countless plant collections. • Known for being incredibly forgiving and tolerant of a wide range of indoor conditions.

After so much anticipation, a little heartbreak, and a sprinkle of plant‑collector rage… she’s finally part of The Indoor Wild. And she is every bit as gorgeous, dramatic, and extra as promised.

Those crackled leaves? Unreal. The shimmer? Illegal. The attitude? Immediate.

Care basics for anyone eyeing her:
• Bright filtered light to keep that sparkle glowing
• Consistent moisture without soggy roots
• High humidity because she’s a diva and deserves it

I’ve shared my plants for a long time… but not the person tending them.

Hi, I’m Katie, the hands behind the leaves, the dirt‑under‑my‑nails girl building a little jungle right here in Quincy, IL.

I’m most myself elbow‑deep in potting mix, cheering on new growth, and dreaming up ways to make our small town a little greener, one happy plant at a time. This space has grown with me, and I’m excited to finally step into the frame.
