Did you know Ernest Maier started in 1926 with blocks being made by hand—just 72 blocks a day?

Nearly 100 years later, that small operation has grown into a family of companies serving customers across Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and DC.

The growth continued over the years with Parker Block joining the family in 2003, Skyline Brick in 2010, Bay Ready Mix in 2015, Gomoljak Block in 2017, and continued expansion into precast concrete, ready mix, structural steel, accessories and more.

In 1995, Brendan Quinn stepped in as interim CEO with a turnaround strategy centered around something that remains important today: people. Investing in employees, expecting more, and being willing to get involved in every part of the operation.

Different locations. Different products. One growing family with roots going all the way back to 1926.
