Don’t panic—it’s not what it looks like! 😅

We’ve been hard at work aerating and overseeding all week. Those little clumps are actually soil plugs pulled from the ground. Pulling these plugs lets the soil breathe, and following it up with fresh seed. The result? A much healthier, thicker, and greener lawn coming your way! 🌱✨

With summer in full swing and temperatures continuing to rise, we're beginning to see many lawns showing signs of drought and heat stress. One of the most common reasons is inadequate watering. During extended periods of hot, dry weather, watering for 15–20 minutes per zone is often not enough to keep your lawn healthy.

The photos below demonstrate the difference proper irrigation can make. One customer is watering for approximately 15–20 minutes per zone, and the lawn is showing significant signs of drought stress with brown, dry turf. The other customer is watering for approximately 50 minutes per zone, and the lawn remains healthy, lush, and green.
Proper watering practices are essential during the summer months. Deep, consistent watering encourages stronger root growth and helps your lawn better withstand heat and dry conditions.

☀️Summer Watering Tips for a Healthier Lawn ☀️

Hot weather can be tough on your lawn, but watering correctly makes all the difference!

💧Water early in the morning (4 AM–9 AM) to reduce evaporation. Aim for about 1–1½ inches of water per week, including rainfall. Water deeply and less often (every other day) to encourage deeper, stronger roots. Avoid watering in the evening, as prolonged moisture can lead to lawn diseases.

A little stress during the summer is normal. Deep, consistent watering helps your lawn stay healthier and recover faster when temperatures cool down.

As the summer heat arrives, one of the best things you can do for your lawn is raise your mowing height.

For most lawns, keeping your grass between 3½" and 4" tall during the summer helps promote a healthier, greener lawn. Taller grass provides shade for the soil, helps retain moisture, encourages deeper root growth, and reduces w**d pressure.

Many homeowners think shorter grass means less mowing, but cutting too low can stress your lawn and leave it vulnerable to heat and drought.

Thirteen months ago, this lawn was easily one of the worst on the block. Thin turf, w**ds, bare spots, and years of neglect had taken their toll.

Fast forward to today, and it's become one of the best-looking lawns in the neighborhood.
