The metro Phoenix area has only received 1.20” of total rainfall. In the valley of the sun we average 7-8” of rainfall annually - and the majority of it comes in the from monsoon rains and summer storms.

The majority of our soil here in the valley is a clay or sandy loam. And what happens to sand and clay when they dry out? How about when they get wet after being dry for months on end? The end result is soil instability and the root system of your trees inability to stabilize itself in the soft and saturated soil. The combination of softening and saturated soil along with the added weight of water retention in the leaves and is what leads to your trees leaning, falling over or even uprooting themselves.

Just imagine the impact of 3 or 4 inches of rainfall in a relatively short period of time can have of the health, safety and security of your trees.
