Over 25,000 Chimney fires happen a year in the USA. most are caused by lack of maintenance over time. The main culprit of chimney fires is creosote. This highly flammable, dark brown substance coats chimney walls when using your fire place. If the temperature in the chimney flue is hot enough, and the creosote build-up thick enough, creosote can catch fire. Even if you do not regularly use the fireplace, the chimney still needs a regular checkup. Your chimney should be inspected annually, and cleaned periodically depending upon how often you use it, according to the Chimney Safety Institute of America.

Remove water spots from chrome with lemon: Water spots can be stubborn, but if you rub a cut lemon over chrome, you can remove them.

Apply car wax to prevent toilet bowl stains: Put synthetic car wax on the walls of your toilet bowl to make it difficult for stains to stick. Recoat every six months or so.

Clean your exhaust fan with canned air: Dust and dirt can build up in your exhaust fan, making it less efficient. Use canned air to get it clean.

Stop mirror fog with shaving cream: Clean your bathroom mirror with shaving cream

Polish chrome with baby oilGet chrome to shine like new with baby oil.

Remove shower head buildup with vinegar in a bag: Attach a bag filled with vinegar to your shower head and let it sit for a while to remove crusty build up.

Remove hard water stains on faucets with a vinegar soak: No matter how hard you scrub, some hard water stains just won’t budge. Put vinegar soaked paper towels around them to remove the stains.

Whether you have grout or caulk as a filler between your tiles in the bathroom, it will show signs of wear
over time. If you notice any crumbling, peeling, or mildew, it’s probably time for a touch-up. tip walks you through re-caulking in your home.
1.) When you open a tube of caulk, the tapered tip on each tube allows you to custom-size the opening for your specific job
2.) Consistency is key. Work from each edge to the middle, or start by caulking the last 6 inches first. Do your best to keep pressure, speed and angle consistent.
3.) Most of the time, the only additional caulking tools required are a fingertip, some water to dip it in and some paper towels. Smoothing the bead with light, steady pressure from your fingertip (or an ice cube or the back of a metal spoon for exterior caulk) does two things—it forces the caulk firmly against both surfaces and creates a clean, tidy appearance.

If you home needs extra caulking help don't hesitate to call us at (253) 310-7334
