I just selected a few videos and let them run practically full length. If you don’t like long form, I understand! Some videos warrant more footage and I hope this is applicable. The ants moved quickly out of the hardest hit moisture areas. I don’t like spraying toxic chemicals, Neem oil is something I use in my garden and worked extremely well with this treatment. Factoring in the removal of the soaked osb sheeting, and a nice dry sunny day, this dried out quickly and the ants were in full eviction mode. No water = no ants. The deterioration thankfully stopped just shy of two of three windows. Only had to pull one. Short rafter repair was minimal and all in all a successful fix. On to siding next…
The lesson here is that trees and vegetation have to be clear from the house, gutters and downspouts clear of tree debris, and we went ape 💩 on additional building envelope protection. It sucked having to repair this at my own residence, but will help me empathize with clients we do this work for in the future!
