Price absolutely matters when you're hiring someone to work in your home. But there's another question worth asking: What exactly am I paying for?

Experience, licensing, insurance, quality materials, proper installation and workmanship all matter.

A repair that's inexpensive today but has to be corrected again later isn't much of a bargain.

One of the easiest ways to prevent plumbing problems? Be picky about what gets flushed.

Toilets are designed for toilet paper and human waste. Products labeled “flushable” don't necessarily disappear the moment they hit the pipes.

If you want happier drains, keep wipes, paper towels, feminine products and other household items out of the toilet.

Your plumbing will quietly appreciate you for it. 🔧

Open the cabinet under your kitchen and bathroom sinks. That's it. 😂

Look for:
💧 Moisture
💧 Corrosion
💧 Water marks
💧 Drips around shut-off valves
💧 Swollen cabinet material

Tiny leaks can hide there for a surprisingly long time. A quick peek every now and then can save you from discovering the problem when the cabinet floor is already soaked.

No hot water is obvious. The earlier warning signs aren't always as easy to spot.

Watch for:
1️⃣ Hot water running out faster
2️⃣ Water taking longer to heat
3️⃣ Strange noises from the tank
4️⃣ Rust-colored or cloudy hot water
5️⃣ Moisture around the bottom
6️⃣ An older unit needing repeated repairs

A problem doesn't automatically mean replacement. Sometimes it can be repaired. The key is figuring out what's actually wrong before spending money unnecessarily.

Save this for the next time your hot water starts acting strange.

A small leak doesn't always mean a big repair. But ignoring it can sometimes turn it into one.

Watch for:
✔️ Water stains
✔️ Damp cabinets
✔️ Musty smells
✔️ A toilet that constantly runs
✔️ Water where it shouldn't be
✔️ An unexplained change in your water bill

Catching plumbing problems early is usually much easier than dealing with water damage later.
