We love being able to give back and serve our community. County of Lexington is a great place to live, work and play!

The Lexington County Planning Commission gave special recognition to former Planning Commissioner and Chairman Bryan Clifton during their meeting on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023.

Mr. Clifton served honorably as a volunteer member for more than six years, a portion of which as Chairman, from April 25, 2017 – September 26, 2023. County Council appointed Mr. Clifton to serve Council District 7, represented by Council Chairwoman Beth Carrigg.

In that time, Mr. Clifton was instrumental in the creation, adoption, and implementation of the Lexington County "Grow With Us" 2022 Comprehensive Plan, the likes of which this County has not seen in almost 40 years.

Mr. Clifton always provided steadfast leadership and guidance to the Commission and Council throughout his time on the Commission. Additionally, Mr. Clifton offered creative ideas and innovative initiatives by adopting new and revised legislation to update the County’s Zoning, Subdivision, Landscape, and Open Space Ordinances during these challenging times of unprecedented growth.

Planning Director Holland Leger and all members of the Commission would like to share their utmost appreciation and respect for Mr. Clifton's noble and selfless service to the group and the citizens of Lexington County.
