New garage build in Simpsonville. Two stories of frame are up, the roof trusses are set, and the ZIP sheathing is staged and ready to go on the walls. Once it does, the temporary bracing comes off and the building carries its own shear strength.

You will never see the frame once the decking is on. That is why we take our time on it.

Prospect deck rebuild continues. Posts are set, main beams span across, joists are in, and the decking has started going down. From the yard it looks like a deck taking shape. From underneath it looks like a plan.

The yellow ratchet strap is holding this wall vertical.

New garage build in Simpsonville. Walls are framed, headers are set, and the strap is keeping a wall plumb while the temporary cross members go in. Once the sheathing is on the outside, the building carries its own shear strength. Right now the strap is doing that job.

Some decks earn a repair. This one earned a full rebuild.

A wraparound deck two stories off the back of a Prospect home. Painted railings, pergola over the seating area, turned columns down to the brick patio. We took it all the way down. The line on the brick shows where the old ledger sat. Rebuild starts next.

There is a point where patching costs more than starting over. This deck had reached it.

Everything about this bathroom is quiet. Except for the built-in shelf.

This den is part of a whole home remodel we finished on in Louisville. The exposed brick was always there. What changed was everything around it.
