Wow! Houses collapsing under heavy snow. If you’re in doubt, I’d hire roofing professionals to clear the extra weight off.

Several structures in Central New York have collapsed recently due to the weight of snowfall. Should you worry about the snow on your roof? For the vast majority of us, the answer is no. Homes are built to withstand an extreme snow load. Two feet of snow is not a problem for a home built to code.

If you aren't sure, you can always call a professional to double-check your home for any concerns. Of course, it doesn't hurt to clean snow off your roof, safely.
