Super-clean panel upgrade! Home in plano with old Federal Pacific panel in bedroom closet.

We upgraded to a Square D QO panel with surge protector, new ground rods, and upgraded his range circuit from 30A to 40A at the same time.

The old panel was gutted and used as a junction box, and door bolted shut.

It wad a textbook job and went very smoothly. Thanks to my customer, Dan, for the opportunity!

We have successfully completed a Tesla Wall Connector installation that presented a unique challenge. The client did not want us to remove drywall to run the cable from the bottom of the panel, which is the standard procedure. We were able to find a solution that met the client's request while also following the electrical code for securing the cable to the box. View the results! Just finished recessed lighting job in McKinney. Family had lived with crummy ceiling fan light for years and has been wanting to upgrade for a while.

Not every job is a big one — and that’s okay.

Today’s call: a brand new home, beautiful in every way except one. The builder installed the vanity lights upside down — shining up at the ceiling instead of down where you need the light. The homeowner asked them to fix it. They wouldn’t come back.

So she called us. A little while later, the fixtures were flipped, the bathroom looked the way it should, and she had one less thing bugging her every morning.

No drama, no big invoice. Just a small fix, done neatly, for a happy customer. Sometimes that’s all it’s about — making someone’s home a little more pleasant to live in.

Why does my breaker keep tripping? Usually one of three things: an overloaded circuit (too much on one line), a short somewhere, or a breaker that’s just worn out.

The newest wrinkle is the requirement of ground fault and arc fault breakers, which can be extremely sensitive to intermittent or borderline conditions which can be an early indicator of a shock or fire hazard.

One trip? Reset it and watch. Trips again? Stop resetting it — that breaker is doing its job telling you something’s wrong. That’s when you call us!

Thinking about an EV charger at home? Three things to know before you buy:

1) Most homes need a dedicated 50-amp circuit (or possibly 60+ depending on the charger) — your existing outlets will take all night to chargerhe your car.

2) Panel capacity matters, as well as your existing electrical load. We check before we quote so there are no surprises, and we will perform a load calculation if there is any doubt that your service can handle the additional power.

3) Plug-in or hardwired? A plug-in charger on a 14-50 outlet requires GFCI protection by code — a hardwired unit doesn’t, and it’s often the cleaner, more reliable install. We’ll walk you through which makes sense for your setup. Just wrapped one up this week (check out the reel below 👇).
