Recently, we repaired a 1,000 volt direct current motor operating at 880 rpm. During inspection, we identified several component failures within the armature assembly that were limiting performance and increasing the risk of future downtime. To restore reliability, we redesigned and repaired the armature’s critical components, including equalizers, bolts, brackets, and shafts, helping to ensure the motor returned to peak operating condition. A portion of the redesign was focused on the future assembly and disassembly of the unit’s equalizers. Our technical experts created a new locking mechanism for the dual equalizers that makes access easier to reduce maintenance and repair times.
