This table was a long time coming.
It started as a log discovered on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi in Baton Rouge, pulled out at a barge loading site. From there it went a few hours north to one of the biggest mills around, where it came off the saw as sixteen huge live edge slabs.
Then the waiting. Over a year of air drying, then a few hundred miles to a vacuum kiln to get the moisture under 10%. Onto a big CNC to flatten it and cut in c-channels for stability. Then sanding, epoxy filling, more sanding, even MORE sanding, and two coats of hardwax oil.
Custom black steel legs installed, then onto a truck headed way east to the North Georgia mountains.
I’m biased, but this one turned out incredible.
