🌲 POWHATAN LANDOWNERS... IT’S LAND USE TIME!
Powhatan County’s Land-Use Deferral Program can help qualifying landowners save on real estate taxes while helping preserve the agricultural and forest land that makes Powhatan special.
For timber/forest land, properties must have at least 20 acres of timber, and a written report from a certified forester is required as part of the application.
🌳 NEW TO LAND USE?
Applications are accepted September 1 – November 1. If you’re applying with timber/forest land, Ridgeline Forestry can review your property and prepare the required certified forestry report.
🌲 ALREADY IN LAND USE?
Keep an eye on your mailbox! Current participants should receive a revalidation/renewal form from Powhatan County. Timber/forest properties will need an updated forester review and certified forestry report for revalidation.
🌳 That’s where Ridgeline Forestry comes in!
Whether you’re applying for the first time or renewing, give us a call. We can review your timberland, prepare the required certified report, and help with the forestry portion of the process.
Don’t wait until the deadline! With property reviews and certified reports to complete, the Land Use window can go by quickly. Contact us early to get on the schedule.
