Raise your hand if you never have to compromise your integrity to do your job🙋🏻‍♀️

I always explain this part of my job when I am conversing with candidates interested in working in Solar. This is a very important element of any sales job - the ability to keep true to who you are and be honest in what you do with everyone you come across.

I’m very proud to be in this industry and more specifically, this company because I always get to be my true authentic, tree hugging, animal loving self all while helping homeowners save money by going solar.

Today is world water day 💙

Since 1993, the United Nations have observed this day to shed light on the importance of safe, clean water and bring worldwide awareness to the global water crises.

784 million people around the world lack access to safe water.

The good news? There are nonprofits out there who are working diligently to drop these statistics.

One of them, and a proud partnership that has been working with is the

It’s actually a 50kw system with a 150kw battery with a max output of 70k liters a day - specifically set at this number to avoid brine buildup. This means that they can install a plant and not hurt the ecosystem, which further protects the biodiversity of that region.

GivePower has changed the way we look as solving this water crisis and delivers clean drinking water to coastal communities in need.

Even cooler news? With every install that completes, they donate $20 to GivePower - and so far we’ve hit a total of $75,000 given to this amazing cause 🙏🏼

“They’re located in Northern California. They're appointed by the Governor. And they're heavily influenced by the utilities,” said Aguirre, who is now in private practice in San Diego.

“Most every member of the Public Utilities Commission, including the current president, come out of the Governor's office and have a background in politics,” said Aguirre.

Four of the five CPUC board members were appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom.
None of them live in San Diego, where SDG&E rates are the highest in the state.

Commissioners appointed by Governor, vote on rate increases proposed every three years.

Have you been interested in going Solar but are too overwhelmed by all the companies offered in your area?

Here are a few tips:

☀️Go solar with a consultant who will walk you through the entire solar process from start to finish. Someone with solid communication who fully comprehends the complexities of solar (property liens, roof knowledge, tax liability and optimal power output for future needs)

☀️Make sure that the company you work with has a good reputation for not only their quality installs but their time frame on PTO. Many companies will boast about how fast they can get panels installed on your roof. This is when not only the company gets paid , it’s when the rep gets paid! The wait time between your panels getting installed and permission to operate can take months. I’ve seen it go up 8+ months!

The reason why this can take so long is because a solar inspection is complex. And if the company you are working with did not do their due diligence from the very get-go, that same company will have to fix whatever is wrong with the home that failed the final inspection. Remember, these companies are often putting the majority of their focus on getting panels on the roof. They aren’t as incentivized to fix problems that can arise, especially when they have multiple layers of complex problems which require sometimes over a dozen people to consult before the issue is 100% resolved.

With that said, things like this do happen! Solar is not perfect. However, the consultant that you work with is so integral during this process because you as a homeowner need to know what is going on so you can prepare and be involved.

☀️Be excited! I love talking about Solar, as you can see from this post I’m very passionate about making sure that anyone going solar has a great experience. It’s an exciting time that we can have renewable energy on our own homes that is 40 to 60% cheaper than the way we are getting power right now. You are being a part of a solution to protect our only home, and you are paving the way for others to follow.
