Linda Hamilton, the 69-year-old actress best known as Sarah Connor in the Terminator franchise, has pushed back against Hollywood’s anti-aging pressures in a new interview, embracing the changes in her appearance rather than fighting them.
Speaking with AARP’s Movies for Grownups ahead of her role as Dr. Kay in the final season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, Hamilton said she does not spend a moment trying to look younger on any level, ever. “I have just completely surrendered to the fact that this is the face that I’ve earned. And it tells me so much. And sometimes it’s stuff I don’t want to hear,” she said.
Hamilton, who first played Sarah Connor in 1984’s The Terminator and returned for 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day and 2019’s Terminator: Dark Fate, said she does not chase beauty or longevity, but still works to stay healthy. While filming Stranger Things, she trained at the gym three times a week, mixing Pilates, yoga and free weights. She now lives a quieter life in New Orleans, away from the pace of Hollywood, saying she has found a balance between work and life that feels, in her words, like a blessing.
