A modern return to timeless craftsmanship.

Set across 100 acres of farmland, the Millerton Farmhouse is a study in enduring materials and considered craftsmanship. Reclaimed timber, aged brick, Venetian plaster, Roman clay, natural stone, and hand-cut stone were chosen for their ability to weather, soften, and gather character over time. Custom millwork, reclaimed oak, and hand-finished details bring the same sense of permanence inside.

The home’s floor plan is shaped around the landscape, with interconnected indoor and outdoor kitchens, a greenhouse-facing breakfast nook, and expansive glass framing the farmland beyond. Vaulted ceilings, arched openings, a radius staircase, and a monumental soapstone fireplace create a quiet dialogue between old-world craft and modern living, built not simply to be beautiful today, but to belong for generations.

This is very much a residence rooted in place, honoring the landscape, and inspired by the rich architectural history of the Hudson Valley.

Coming in 2027, our newest project will bring the Foster Supply approach to hospitality to the Hudson River — transforming three historic buildings on Grand Street into a hotel, restaurant, event space, and gathering place rooted in the history, culture, and energy of Newburgh.

After breaking ground earlier this year — and sharing a first look at the project with The New York Times in June — we’re excited to share more of the story behind what’s to come.

With a legacy in Hudson Valley hospitality, this historic Rosendale property has been reimagined as Six Bells, one of the region’s most distinctive and sought-after stays. Every room reflects a craftsmanship from another time, with custom millwork, built-ins, and carefully restored original details that speak to the building’s past. The project presented a rare opportunity to contribute to the careful restoration of a Hudson Valley landmark inn while introducing bespoke details that immerse guests in a world feeling part folk fairytale and part historic retreat. From the architectural details to the interiors, every element was considered to preserve the property’s character while giving it a distinctly modern identity.

Even before welcoming its first guests, Six Bells captured the attention of national publications and design and hospitality audiences. In 2026, the property earned a second Michelin Key, further recognizing its place among the Hudson Valley’s most notable stays.

Breaking ground on new opportunities for Midtown Kingston.

We’re excited to begin transforming an underutilized site in the evolving landscape of Midtown Kingston. 615 Broadway will introduce a new mix of residences, retail opportunities, and jobs to Ulster County, bringing public and private partners together to create something special for the city.

“We want to thank the City of Kingston for its partnership and support throughout this process. We see in this project an opportunity to fill a gap along Broadway, restore some continuity to the Midtown corridor, and turn a long-vacant property into a mixed-use place that serves the neighborhood. The Catskills are having their moment, and two signature Baxter projects continue to command the spotlight. Defining a new chapter for Catskills hospitality, Inness and Scribner’s Lodge continue to captivate guests while earning recognition from world-class publications.

In the late-summer edition of the Catskills travel guide, “16 Idyllic Hotels in the Catskills, Where Design Meets the Upstate Wild,” both Inness and Scribner’s Lodge were featured among a curated collection of destinations redefining modern Hudson Valley hospitality.

“Within minutes of arriving at this rustic but refined compound in Accord, you realize what a welcome shift it heralds for hospitality in the Catskills. With its 28 cabins and 12-room farmhouse and social hub, it marries Scandinavian-style minimalism and throwback Americana, with echoes of the Borscht Belt summer resorts that used to be ubiquitous in this part of the state. There is an excellent restaurant, naturally, with a menu of comfort food with shades of Italian and Middle Eastern cooking. The surrounding area is paradise for hikers and cyclists from spring through fall; in winter, the cabins, with their simple Shaker-style furniture and wood-burning stoves, are cozy refuges for relaxing under a throw and gazing out at the frost-kissed landscape. A modern approach to timeless interiors.

At Vassar Alumnae House, Baxter Construction worked within the building’s established character to create interiors that feel both of their time and suited to the present. Two guest rooms and bathrooms were fully renovated, with updated plumbing, lighting, flooring, custom millwork, and furnishings bringing a fresh level of functionality and comfort to the spaces.

For the Baxter team, the work was less about beginning a new or modernizing the interior and more about building thoughtfully upon what was already there. The original character of the Alumnae House building remains at the heart of the project, while each new detail contributes to the next chapter.

We’re proud to be part of the restoration and reimagining of three historic Newburgh landmarks.

This new project includes the Masonic Temple, YMCA, and American Legion in Newburgh. Together, these buildings will be reimagined as The Newburgh Hotel, bringing Newburgh its first boutique hotel in more than 130 years, alongside new destinations for dining, entertainment, and special events.

In partnership with Foster Supply Hospitality, we’re helping give these remarkable buildings a renewed purpose while honoring the history and architecture of the city.

A legacy of hospitality.

At the dawn of the 20th century, Newburgh stood at the height of its influence as both an industrial powerhouse and a destination for recreation and leisure.

Along the waterfront and throughout the city, more than 100 major manufacturing plants took root, producing wool, silk, paper, brick, and other materials that helped fuel an extraordinary era of art, architecture, and innovation sweeping the nation. But Newburgh wasn’t just a place to work. It was a sought after place to play. The city emerged as a major recreational hub, drawing visitors and locals alike for speed skating, yachting, rowing, sports leagues, energetic dance halls, and casinos.

Projects like The Newburgh Hotel are helping carry that legacy forward.
