4 YEARS. ONE PROPERTY. THE FULL TIMELINE. 🔨✨
Some projects are a week. The best ones are a relationship. Here's the full story of the Sugar and Spice Cafe owners' home in LaGrange — in order.
📍 Chapter 1 — The Front Porch. The moment Trex released Transcend Lineage, this porch got it first: Biscayne decking, Trex Signature charcoal black aluminum railings.
📍 Chapter 2 — The Impossible Backyard. A steep, unusable slope over an active septic tank. Tons of engineered fill to raise the grade, and a custom bridge footing that spans the tank completely — helical piles set safely outside, a clear-span beam carrying the deck, tank lids still accessible.

📍 Chapter 3 — The Deck. Multi-level step-down in TimberTech AZEK PVC Castlegate with a massive custom herringbone inlay, black border, cable railings, built-in planters, and hidden AC covers.
📍 Chapter 4 — The Grounds. Oakville natural stone patio with a Unilock Town Hall black border, cobblestone-bordered concrete walkways, landscape lighting, full softscape and sod.
📍 Today. We still service this property every season, and the next upgrades are already planned. Stop by Sugar and Spice Cafe in Poughkeepsie and ask the owners about it over breakfast. ☕
