We may have missed National Dog Day yesterday, but we've been celebrating all week with a very special visitor! 🐾

Meet Winston, our shop coordinator Ashley Albright's adorable 16 week old Cockapoo. While Ashley is on vacation, Winston has been reporting for duty at the shop and even gets to go home with the Thorntons!

He's full of energy, loads of fun and has quickly stolen everyone's heart. We're hoping this sweet boy becomes a weekly visitor! 🦴🐶

Earning a Master
Electrician license is no small accomplishment. It represents years of hands on experience, continued education,
determination, and a commitment to mastering the electrical trade.

For the past eight years plus, W***y has been an important part of the Thornton Electrical Services team. He has
tackled challenging projects, mentored apprentices in the field, and built a reputation for expecting quality workmanship. He believes in doing the job right, and he passes that on to those who work alongside him.

What's even more impressive is that he achieved this milestone while balancing work, studying, some fishing and life at home with, Cassidy, and their two beautiful daughters under the age of two.

W***y's achievement is another example of the dedication our team has to growing in the trade and providing the best possible service to our customers.

Typical evening with Tony who has owned Thornton Electrical Services for 29 years.

We pulled out of the driveway two hours late because my long haired hippie man was stuck at the office.

We were finally headed downtown for some music and a bite to eat when the
emergency call came in.

He looked at me, and I said, "Let's go, babe."

We turned around, grabbed his work truck and headed to Gloucester. It was a true electrical emergency, Tony figured it out and made everything safe. We have a team back on site this morning to finish the job.

After many years, he's still got it and l absolutely love watching how his brain works.

The marina treated us to a wonderful conversation, a cocktail and dinner at the restaurant, so the night turned out pretty great after all.

I sure do love my adventures with Captain Blue Eyes.

⚡ Employee Spotlight: Coleman Powers ⚡

Every once in a while, an employee comes along who reminds you exactly why we do what we do. Coleman is one of those people.

Today, we’re proud to celebrate Coleman for earning his Virginia Journeyman Electrician license!

Coleman started with Thornton Electrical Services as an apprentice and, in just 5 years, earned his Journeyman license, something that’s rarely accomplished that quickly. Anyone in the electrical trade knows this takes classroom hours, hands-on training, determination, and grit. Journeyman isn’t just a title—it’s earned, and Coleman earned every bit of it.

During those same 5 years, he married his biggest fan Samantha and now is a dad of two.

If you know Coleman, you know his priorities. He loves Jesus, he loves his family, and he loves the electrical trade. He’s hardworking, dependable, and always looking to learn.

Coleman, congratulations on this incredible accomplishment. Thank you for your hard work, your commitment to learning the trade, and for being an important part of the Thornton Electrical Services team.

At Thornton Electrical
Services, learning never stops.
This morning's meeting focused on safety, teamwork, and improving our skills.

Jonathan Albright led today's safety discussion by sharing a training video from Electrician U on neutrals, followed by an open discussion with the team.

One point Jonathan made really stood out:
"When something happens, you have to step back and ask why it happened, so you can prevent it from happening again."

Tony then led a
discussion on panel changes, asking each crew to explain how they perform the work. Sharing different methods and experiences helps us stay consistent, improve our workmanship, and ensure we're following the National Electrical Code.
