Most people were asleep at 4:30am in Plain City, Ohio. That's when this fire started and by sunrise, it was a total loss. This is National Construction Safety Week and this photo is a reminder that fire safety doesn't stop at the front door of your home or your job site.

Commercial outbuildings, barns, and work structures are some of the most overlooked spaces when it comes to fire prevention. No sprinklers. No suppression systems. Often no detectors. And when something goes wrong, it goes wrong fast.

Prevention is always the goal. But when it fails, a fast professional response is the next line of defense to assess, document, secure, and begin the path forward.

It’s National Construction Safety Week and we're spotlighting the people who make sure every job site is one our team comes home safe from.

Meet Sage Bedard, our Safety Manager. Sage joined Insurcomm just over two months ago, but her impact is already being felt company-wide. Based in Portsmouth, she travels across all our locations developing safety programs, leading trainings, and getting boots on the ground at job sites to see firsthand what our teams need.

"A lot of people think safety means compliance. But really, it's about working with people. Understanding what they do, what hazards they actually face, and building the kind of relationships where someone feels comfortable calling you and saying, 'hey, does this look safe?' To me, that call is a win," said Sage.

When she's not on a job site, Sage is a competitive powerlifter who once held the NH state women's bench press record. Safe to say she brings that same intensity to everything she does.

Happy National Construction Safety Week from the Insurcomm team. Our people are our most valuable asset and we're glad Sage is in our corner.
