If you’re an experienced locksmith who enjoys working independently, providing quality service, and interacting with customers, we’d love to hear from you!

What MD Lock Doc provides:

🚐 Company vehicle
🔧 Locksmith tools & equipment
📞 Dispatching & office support
🏠 Established customer base
🏢 Residential, commercial & government work
⏰ Opportunities for overtime, weekends & on-call work

What we’re looking for:

✔️ Previous locksmith experience
✔️ Residential & commercial experience
✔️ Valid driver’s license and good driving record
✔️ Reliable and professional
✔️ Strong customer service skills
✔️ Able to work independently in the field
✔️ Able to meet applicable Virginia DCJS requirements

💰 Commission-based 1099 compensation
• 1/4 during regular business hours
• 1/2 for overtime & weekend work
• 1/3 for designated after-hours forwarded calls

Actual earnings vary based on job volume, type of work, and availability. This is an independent contractor position.

We were called out to a commercial location where the front door was not fully shutting, preventing the doorbell from activating when customers entered. After inspection, our technician found that the door closer had been installed incorrectly after multiple previous attempts. 😬

Our technician got everything back in working order by:

🔩 Installing a new drop-down plate
🛠️ Repositioning the frame plate correctly
⚙️ Properly adjusting the door closer for smooth operation
🌧️ Replacing the weather stripping and door sweep on the back door
✅ Testing the doors to ensure proper operation

A customer called us because their door key was extremely difficult to use from the outside. Our technician inspected the lock and found a few things that needed attention.

🔧 Adjusted the Surlock strike
🧴 Lubricated the lock for smoother operation
🔑 Cut a replacement key to replace the bent key
✅ Tested the lock to ensure everything was operating properly

🚨🚪 **A fire exit door that won’t open is a serious problem!**

We were called out to a commercial location where the **back fire exit door would not open**, even though the locks were disengaging. Nothing outside the door was blocking it, but the door was still stuck in place.

Our technician inspected the door and determined that **rust had caused the door frame to swell**, preventing the door from opening properly. 🔧

Our tech was able to:
🛠️ Shim the door to provide the necessary clearance
🔩 Adjust the strike position
⚙️ Adjust the door closer

🚪🔧 Sometimes the little things can cause bigger problems!

We recently had a commercial customer call us out because they were having trouble with the front door lock. The metal ring around the lock had come loose, and the repeated movement was starting to cause damage to the flooring underneath.

Our technician inspected the door and found that the bottom thumb turn needed to be repaired. He also replaced and secured the metal ring around the lock to help prevent further movement and keep it from continuing to damage the floor.

🔧 Repaired the bottom thumb turn
🔩 Replaced the metal ring around the lock
🚪 Secured the hardware properly
✅ Tested the door to make sure everything was working as it should
