After-hours door repair!

We recently responded to an overtime service call for a commercial door that wasn't latching properly. The culprit? The strike latch had dropped too low, preventing the panic bar from engaging correctly and leaving the door difficult to secure.

After inspecting the door, our technician found that the door had begun to sag, throwing the hardware out of alignment.

Here's how the repair was completed:
πŸ”§ Adjusted the strike latch to the correct position.
πŸšͺ Corrected the door sag to restore proper alignment.
πŸ›’οΈ Lubricated the panic bar for smoother operation.
βœ… Tested the door to ensure it opened, closed, and latched properly.

Commercial doors go through thousands of open-and-close cycles over their lifetime. Over time, doors can settle, hardware can shift, and components can fall out of alignment. Fortunately, many of these issues can be corrected with the right adjustments before they turn into bigger repairs.

Another after-hours call successfully completed and another business able to lock up with confidence. πŸ”

πŸšͺπŸ”§ Sometimes a door looks beyond repair... until you take a closer look.

We were recently called out to inspect a back door panic bar that had completely come apart. When our technician arrived, both the panic bar and the outside trim were hanging off the door. 😳

After investigating, he found that the mounting screws had snapped off inside the trim studs, preventing the hardware from being reattached.

Instead of replacing the entire panic bar, our technician was able to repair the existing hardware by:

πŸ”© Drilling out the broken screws.
πŸ› οΈ Re-tapping the studs.
πŸ”§ Reinstalling the panic bar and outside trim.
✨ Securing everything with brand-new mounting screws.
βœ… Testing the door to ensure it operated smoothly and securely.

This repair is a great example of how the problem isn't always the hardware itselfβ€”sometimes it's the fasteners holding everything together. With the right tools and experience, a repair can often get a door back in service without replacing the entire assembly.

Another door restored and another customer back to business! πŸ‘

πŸš¨πŸ”’ After-hours call? No problem!

We recently responded to an overtime emergency service call for a business with a damaged roll-up door that couldn't be properly secured.

After assessing the situation, our technician was able to:
πŸ› οΈ Open the damaged roll-up door safely.
πŸ”§ Repair the door to restore proper operation.
πŸ”’ Install a brand-new lock.
πŸ“ Relocate the lock to a more secure position for improved protection.
βœ… Test everything to ensure the door was operating and locking correctly.

Sometimes the best solution isn't just replacing a lockβ€”it's improving the overall security of the door. By relocating the lock to a stronger, more secure location, we helped give the customer added peace of mind while extending the life of the repair.

Every job is different, but the goal is always the same: get the customer secured and back to business.

πŸ”πŸšͺ One repair turned into a full security upgrade!

We were initially called out to a business because they needed their side door secured. Our technician quickly got the door safe and secure, but during the visit, it became clear there were additional issues throughout the building.

After inspecting the other openings, the customer decided it was the perfect time to address them all at once.

On our return visit, our technician:
πŸ”§ Repaired 7 commercial doors.
πŸ”’ Installed new locks where existing locks had failed.
πŸ”‘ Rekeyed all of the new locks, giving the customer one key that operates every door.
βœ… Tested each lock and door to ensure everything was functioning properly.

Sometimes a service call starts with one problem but uncovers opportunities to improve the overall security and convenience of a facility. By repairing multiple doors and keying everything alike, the customer now has a building that's not only more secureβ€”but much easier to manage.

One key. Seven doors. One happy customer. πŸ‘πŸ”

πŸšͺπŸ”§ Some door repairs take a little extra muscle!

We were recently called out to inspect two commercial front entrance doors that weren't operating the way they should.

After a thorough inspection, our technician found that the bottom pivot hinges had failed, causing both doors to sag and preventing them from functioning properly. The active door also had a safety chain that wasn't allowing the door to open to its full intended range.

Once the customer approved the repair, it was all hands on deck! πŸ’ͺ

Because these were tall, heavy commercial doors, two of our technicians returned to complete the installation safely and efficiently.

Here's what the job involved:
πŸ”© Removed both entrance doors.
πŸšͺ Installed new full-length continuous hinges on both doors.
⛓️ Relocated the existing safety chain (or replaced it with a longer one) to allow the active door to open properly.
πŸ“ Rehung, aligned, and adjusted both doors.
βœ… Tested everything to ensure smooth, reliable operation.

Continuous hinges are a great solution for high-traffic commercial entrances because they distribute the weight of the door across the entire frame, reducing wear on individual hinge points and helping extend the life of the opening.

Another successful repair and another entrance operating like new! πŸ‘

πŸš¨πŸ” Emergency calls don't always end with replacing the lock.

We were recently called out to a business where the main entrance door had become a security and safety concern. The door would neither lock nor unlock properly, leaving the customer unable to secure their building.

After inspecting the door and lock, our technician traced the problem to the lock cylinder. Rather than replacing the entire lock, he was able to repair the cylinder, restoring smooth operation and getting the entrance back to full working order. πŸ”§

Here's what was done:
πŸ” Diagnosed the cause of the lock failure.
πŸ” Repaired the existing lock cylinder.
βš™οΈ Tested the lock to ensure it locked and unlocked smoothly.
βœ… Restored security to the customer's entrance.

Sometimes what seems like a major lock failure turns out to be a repairable issue. Taking the time to properly diagnose the problem can save both time and unnecessary hardware replacement.

Another emergency handled, another business secured. πŸ’ͺ
