Production AI is changing the infrastructure equation.
AI experimentation is easy to start. But when AI moves into production, the questions become much bigger:
→ Where should inference run?
→ How predictable are the infrastructure costs?
→ Where does enterprise data reside?
→ Who controls the AI environment?
→ How do security, governance, and integration scale?
Broadcom’s Private Cloud Outlook 2026 points to a significant shift: 56% of organizations are running or planning to run production AI inference in private cloud, while public-cloud production inference declined from 56% to 41% year over year.
At the same time, AI is becoming increasingly agentic—moving from systems that answer questions to AI coworkers that can access knowledge, interact with applications, use tools, and execute workflows.
That makes infrastructure ownership and control increasingly strategic.
We explored what this means for enterprise AI—and why the next competitive advantage may not be the model itself, but the infrastructure underneath it.
