About a year after a project is completed, we head back for a warranty walk to check in, see how the space is working and identify anything that needs to be addressed.

We recently did just that for the pharmacy portion of Yakima Valley Farm Workers multi-phase clinic renovation. Meanwhile, we’re wrapping up Phase 7 of the larger project.

Through every phase, the clinic has remained open and continued serving patients. Keeping things running while construction happens around you takes a lot of planning and coordination, and it’s great to see this project nearing the finish line!

We had a great time hosting part of ODC26 last night at Clark/Kjos!

It was fun welcoming conference attendees into our office and sharing a little about what we do, the communities we work in, and some of the projects we’ve been fortunate to be part of throughout Oregon.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and spent some time with us. We enjoyed having you!

A big milestone at Wallowa Memorial Hospital yesterday! The new modular MRI building arrived on site and was set into place.

The new MRI will replace the hospital’s mobile MRI trailer and connect directly to the existing hospital through a new enclosed walkway, creating a more permanent and comfortable experience for patients and staff.

It’s exciting to see years of planning and coordination come together on site.

We’re excited to open our doors for the 2026 AIA Oregon Design Conference Firm Crawl!

This year’s conference is centered around the theme of Community and we’ll be sharing a selection of projects that explore how healthcare spaces can strengthen communities, support connection, and help keep care closer to home.

A baroque duet in our kitchen dining area. Not a typical Thursday.

Thanks to Scott Combs, a Portland Baroque Orchestra board member, we had the chance to host a donor event with a live performance on what turned out to be a perfect September evening. A different use of the space than we are used to, and a welcome one.

A great day supporting Breast Health at Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center.

CKA’s Dan Salvey teamed up with friends from Pence and Legacy Meridian Park for The Drive Golf Tournament last Friday. It’s always great to get outside, have some fun and support an important cause.

"Working remotely" hits different when the project is above the Arctic Circle.

CKA is teaming up with GHD's Anchorage office for a second time at Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital, continuing a long-standing collaboration. Our first project there was an MRI suite; this time, we're consulting on the new surgery department in Utqiagvik (formerly Barrow), Alaska, the northernmost city in the US.

We're helping GHD plan two new ORs and recovery spaces to expand healthcare services for North Slope communities. The client, Arctic Slope Native Association, is a tribal non-profit serving the Iñupiat people of the region.

Scott Combs just returned from his first trip to Utqiagvik. He reports it's a remarkable, remote place, and seeing ASNA's work firsthand made the project's impact even clearer.

Our latest postcard is making its way into mailboxes this week.

This one features MultiCare's Union Gap neighborhood emergency department and it was completed in just 20 months from start to finish.

We were back at Compass Oncology's new Northwest Center in Slabtown yesterday for a photoshoot with Sally Painter.

We designed this renovation to create a welcoming, functional space for patients, families, and caregivers. More photos coming soon!

We're officially in the home stretch at Salud Medical Clinic in Woodburn. It's been rewarding to watch this renovation come together one phase at a time. Thanks to Kaufman for sharing the progress. We can't wait to see the final phase complete and the refreshed clinic serving the community for years to come.
