Lovett Deconstruction & Salvage Shop

Lovett Deconstruction & Salvage Shop Passionate about service and preservation, we consider the work of deconstruction to be an artform. We also stock select salvaged materials for resale.

We are invested in the craft of thoughtful dismantling so historic lumber and other materials can be diverted from landfills and given new life. We are a full-service deconstruction company providing services for residential, commercial, and public buildings, ranging from partial dismantling to the disassembly of entire structures. When remodeling, deconstruction can be utilized in the first stage

of the process, as in the case of dismantling a kitchen to its framework (the studs). When a building needs to be removed completely, deconstruction provides an opportunity to systematically reverse the construction process, from roof to foundation, in order to salvage all reusable materials from the structure. "Deconstruction" is the sustainable counterpart to demolition; its practice diverts material from the waste stream and allows for affordable building products to cycle back into the community or to be reused directly in refurbishing the structures from which they are removed.

We’ve been carefully dismantling Portland homes for over 20 years. It’s work we do by hand, piece by piece so the old-growth lumber, T&G flooring, windows, doors, cabinetry, and architectural trim inside a home get a second life—in someone else’s home, in a maker’s workshop, or on the shelves of our Salvage Shop.

A typical 2,000 sq. ft. home holds 6,000 board feet of reusable lumber. That’s the equivalent of 33 mature trees. Sustainable deconstruction keeps all of that from going to waste.

We offer full-service deconstruction in Portland and the surrounding region:
🔩 Interior Deconstruction
🏠 Exterior Deconstruction
🏗️ Full Structure Deconstruction

Welcome to Lovett Salvage Shop

We built the Shop around a simple belief: that found objects, curious things, and heritage lumber deserve a second life. The pieces you’ll find here are not mass-produced or easily replaced. They are objects (and wood!) with history. They’re worn, weathered, and carry the kind of patina that only time and use can provide.

There is nothing we love more than being part of the reuse community. In giving a second, third, or fourth life to wood and other found objects, we keep construction materials out of landfills and make it possible to reuse the reusable.
