Our Oregon Zoo Cascade Terrace & Wildlife Pavilion project finished on schedule, on time, and with minimal disruptions to the Zoo, the animals, and the public.

Featuring a view of Kallik the polar bear at the Wildlife Pavilion and mountain goats from the Cascade Terrace, this project expands the Zoo’s entryway and event spaces while fitting seamlessly into the guest experience.
 
As we recognize Construction Inclusion Week, we’re also celebrating the partnerships behind this project. Fortis was founded as an Oregon emerging small business, and that experience continues to shape how we build today. Through intentional outreach and opportunities for minority-owned, women-owned, and emerging small businesses, we’re committed to making our projects a vehicle for community growth and economic opportunity. On this project, women accounted for 33.32% of apprentice hours worked, reflecting our commitment to expanding opportunities in the construction industry. Thank you to the many partners whose collaboration and expertise helped make this project a success.

Our Inclusive Partnerships team works alongside employees, trade partners, and community organizations to help create welcoming, respectful, and hate-free job sites. Through initiatives like our Inclusion Impact Plan and Respectful Workplace Program, we continue building a culture where everyone feels safe, supported, and valued.

Get a look behind the making of Cheyenne’s food pantries during our service week.

From building the pantries to thoughtfully selecting nutritious, shelf-stable items, our teams came together around a shared goal: helping increase access to food in the communities where we live and work.

Yesterday, we joined Jennie Gordon, First Lady of Wyoming, the Wyoming Hunger Initiative, Meals On Wheels of Cheyenne, and other community partners to officially dedicate four Little Pantries across Cheyenne.

During Hard Hats Against Hunger, our company-wide week of service, the Fortis Wyoming team built 4 food pantries for the Cheyenne community in partnership with the Wyoming Hunger Initiative.
