Our teams thrive on the unique challenges and rewards of renovations. There is something incredibly rewarding about preserving the character, craftsmanship, and stories of a building while breathing new life into it for future generations. Few projects capture that spirit quite like the Duncan & Cindy Campbell National Center of Excellence for Professional Youth Mentoring at Friends of the Children - Portland's Albina Campus.
Located in Portland’s historic Albina neighborhood, this remarkable transformation honors the building’s past while creating a vibrant new home for an organization doing truly life-changing work. For more than 30 years, Friends of the Children has been transforming lives through the power of long-term, professional mentoring, building meaningful relationships that help young people thrive.
We were thrilled to join Friends of the Children, the Campbell family, community partners, supporters, staff, mentors, and families for the ribbon-cutting celebration! Seeing this historic building come to life as a welcoming place for connection, creativity, learning, and opportunity was incredibly rewarding for our entire team.
Congratulations to Friends of the Children on this extraordinary milestone and many thanks to the talented people at Skylab Architecture for their thoughtful design and detailed collaboration.
