Check out the new www.standardbiocarbon.com webpage and explore our premium engineered biochar products and applications.

Over the past six months, Standard Biocarbon has supplied high-quality biochar for professional baseball and sports turf fields, golf course turf management, and high‑performance natural turf systems. We’ve also supported dairy manure lagoon and retention pond projects, PFAS-impacted water and soil remediation, and multiple research trials focused on nutrient management and contaminant removal.

Beyond agriculture and environmental remediation, our engineered biochar is now being evaluated in advanced materials, polymers, and electrochemical energy storage applications, including hard carbons, biographite, and functional fillers. We’ve expanded capabilities to micronize, custom inoculate, and screen biochar, and to produce tailored nut‑shell-based biochar fractions for demanding industrial and remediation uses.

To better serve turf managers, agronomists, soil blenders, and materials developers, we’ve established strategic partnerships with Black Earth Compost, Read Custom Soils, Sports Turf Specialties, Inc., and other leading compost, soil, and landscape material suppliers.

Visit our new site to learn how Standard Biocarbon can be your biochar supplier for sports turf and golf courses, dairy manure management, PFAS remediation, and advanced materials and energy storage project

Made in Maine from renewable forest residuals. Built for soil systems, filtration, remediation, and advanced materials.

Standard Biocarbon and Black Earth Compost are excited to announce our partnership. We have created a product that is 80% compost and 20% biochar that will improve soil structure, water retention, and sequester carbon. This product will be available to be delivered directly by Black Earth.
Through this partnership, Black Earth’s mission to rescue food scraps and other organic inputs from residential and commercial spaces to be used sustainably has come full circle.

Benefits of compost and biochar include:
🌿Biochar is an all-natural, pure carbon soil amendment created from clean wood.
🌿The product is ready to use because the biochar is charged by Black Earth compost.
🌿Biochar improves soil structure and water holding capacity.

Head to Black Earth's website to place your order. Deliveries starting mid-March.

As we begin 2026, let’s look back on the growth highlights that made 2025 such a special year for Standard Biocarbon:

- Welcomed Richard Harrison as CEO, bringing a clear focus on scaling premium biochar production and sales to meet rapidly growing demand from agriculture, landscaping, turf, materials, and remediation markets.

- Achieved a four-fold increase in biochar sales over 2024, reflecting accelerating adoption of high-quality, on-spec engineered biochar across professional users.

- Completed Standard Biocarbon’s first biochar applications on a golf course and a professional sports field, showcasing performance in high-demand turf environments.

- Secured an exclusive supply agreement with a national tree service, creating a new channel for high-quality wood-derived biochar to demanding end-use markets.

- Continued supporting farmers and landowners through USDA NRCS Soil Carbon Amendment (Code 336) projects, helping improve soil health and sequester carbon with source-verified biochar.

- Added Britt Lewis as Revenue Operations Associate to strengthen sales, marketing, and customer success as demand for bulk, OMRI- certified and EBC-compliant biochar.

- Deep gratitude to the customers, farmers, golf and sports turf managers, landscape contractors, and collaborators who made 2025 such a standout year for climate-smart, high-quality biochar.

- Looking ahead to 2026, Standard Biocarbon will continue scaling production, growing distribution partnerships, and support on-going research to rapidly develop demand for premium biochar.
