A heat pump is basically a system that moves heat instead of creating it. In the winter, it pulls heat from outside to warm your home, and in the summer, it does the opposite to cool things down. Pretty cool, right? They’re also super efficient. In fact, according to the U.S. Department of Energy, switching to a heat pump can reduce your electricity use for heating by about 50%! Plus, there are programs like the Inflation Reduction Act that offer rebates for heat pump installations, making it even easier to upgrade.
