We can’t believe the Multnomah County East County Flagship Library Project is finally complete! This gorgeous new public library, designed by Holst Architecture and constructed by Fortis Construction, focuses on community input and impact. Alliant Systems, a design-assist partner to Fortis, has led the plumbing, HVAC, and piping systems coordination and installation for the project. Special features include radiant flooring, AERMEC Air to Water Heat Pumps (AWHP), two-pipe slab recessed Jaga forced air convection units, AAON Air Handing Units (AHU), beautiful plumbing fixtures and features, hydronic piping and more.
This project was a CLT challenge and took a large BIM coordination effort from our in-house modeling team. Significant effort was taken to coordinate prefabricated pe*******on locations in the CLT decking, and it was crucial to keep our mechanical and plumbing systems hidden to let the CLT be the main feature of the space.

Alliant Systems’ Building Performance Services Team is proud to have supported Fern Ridge School District in securing a round one award through Oregon’s Early Compliance Action and Planning Program (ECAPP), helping the district get ahead of the state’s new Building Performance Standards (BPS).

Passed under House Bill 3409 in 2025, Oregon’s BPS requires large commercial and multifamily buildings to benchmark and report energy use, with the first compliance deadlines beginning as early as 2028.

This incentive helps offset early planning costs, including:
✔️ Energy benchmarking and reporting
✔️ Energy audits
✔️ Energy management and O&M planning
✔️ Steps toward full compliance

Big news from Alliant Systems — we’re building our new Portland headquarters! 🎉

Our new space in Goose Hollow will showcase what Alliant is all about: innovation, collaboration, and craftsmanship. The renovation of the former Fortis Construction office near Providence Park will turn the building into a modern, light-filled workspace built for connection and creativity.

Just one block from Providence Park and close to great local landmarks like Lincoln High School, MAC Club, and Hotel deLuxe, our new HQ is perfectly located for our growing team.

It’s Never Too Early - Our Holiday Giving Program 2025 is LIVE!

Since 2017, Alliant has partnered with the Christmas Family Adoption Foundation (CFAF), adopting local families to bring more joy and a little less stress during the holidays. Thanks to your generosity over the years, we’ve helped brighten the season for 172 people, including 107 children, and we’re ready to do it again!

Last week, our team had the honor of attending the Architecture Foundation of Oregon (AFO) Honored Citizen Banquet, celebrating this year’s honoree, Ernesto Fonseca.

Ernesto’s work embodies the power of community-driven leadership. Through his role at Hacienda CDC and his service on multiple boards, including the Oregon Community Foundation, iSector, and Governor Kotek’s Housing Production Advisory Council. He continues to inspire meaningful change in housing, equity, and opportunity across Oregon and beyond.

It was an unforgettable evening filled with celebration, connection, and even a lively mariachi band to mark the occasion! 🎶

What a day! We were happy to spend time interacting with high school students from all over the greater Portland area at The NW Youth Careers Expo. The event shows students the region's amazing diversity of career opportunities, along with the skills and education needed for those jobs. Our booth had an individual representing of every facet of our business, including plumbing, sheetmetal, piping, BIM detailing, engineering, and service.

Check out this awesome aerial footage of our most recent project at Tillamook Creamery in Tillamook, OR. As part of our design-build efforts, we installed two new custom air handling units with new ductwork, heating & chilled water piping. We also performed the controls install on these units.
