A customer had a DE Filter Tank that was 20 years old and needed to be replaced. Their multi port valve for the DE backwash had deteriorated and needed to be replaced as well. Instead they decided to take the multi port valve out and switch from DE to Cartridge filters.

Today we replaced this customers cartridge 420 filters. Old or dirty filters will make it very difficult to keep your pool clean. You should be cleaning your cartridge filters every 4 months but might be able to get away with every 6 months if your pool doesn’t get much debri. Waiting to clean them will cause your pool to not be as clean and cause the filters to not last as long due to the high pressure the pool is operating at.
