🚨 WHAT’S HIDING IN YOUR ATTIC? 🐀🏠

You might not see them, but the damage they leave behind tells the story! 👀

Our Rogue Wildlife team uncovered this chewed-up HVAC ductwork, exposing the insulation underneath. Rodents and other nuisance wildlife can cause serious damage when they make themselves at home in your attic.

⚠️ Why is this a problem?

🐀 Rodents can chew through ductwork and insulation.

💨 Damaged air ducts can waste energy and reduce your AC system’s efficiency.

🏠 Openings in ductwork can allow attic dust and contaminants into your air system.

💰 What starts as a small wildlife problem can turn into expensive repairs!

Don’t wait until you hear scratching in the ceiling or notice something isn’t right with your AC!

At Rogue Wildlife & Pest Control, we don’t just look for unwanted guests. We help identify the damage they leave behind and the entry points that let them in.

📞 Contact Rogue today to schedule your wildlife inspection!

🦇 Bat Exclusion Job in Progress! 🏠

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how we start a bat exclusion on a tile roof!

We’re installing specialized exclusion netting to allow bats to safely exit the roof without being able to get back inside. Once the bats are out, we’ll work on sealing up their entry points to prevent future infestations.

No poison. No shortcuts. Just professional wildlife exclusion done right! 💪

Raccoons tearing through your trash? We see it often in Port St. Lucie. Look for easy food: loose lids, bags beside cans, pet food left out. Secure lids. Store cans in a garage when you can. Remove fallen fruit and spilled birdseed. Watch with an outdoor camera to identify the visitor. Repeated visits or attempts to enter structures need an inspection. I can assess entry points, recommend humane exclusion, and help make your property less inviting to wildlife. Call (772) 342-0262 or read more: https://wix.to/vLx3zRD 🦝🛡️

🐀 Sometimes the rat entry point isn’t where you expect it.

During today’s inspection, we noticed heavy staining and debris around the soffit near an active water leak. After tracing the problem and lifting the roof tiles, we uncovered a large hole in the roof decking that rats had been using to access the home.

The leak eventually made its way into the garage—but it also created the perfect opportunity for rodents to chew their way inside.

We installed a temporary sheet-metal exclusion to stop the rodent activity until a licensed roofing contractor can properly remove and replace the damaged roofing/decking.

🔎 This is why a thorough inspection matters. Sometimes the smallest clue leads to a major entry point.

🚨🦝 RACCOON TESTS POSITIVE FOR RABIES IN STUART — 60-DAY ALERT ISSUED

Martin County residents, please be careful around wildlife. A raccoon captured **off South Kanner Highway on Sunday, September 27, tested positive for rabies, prompting the Florida Department of Health in Martin County to issue a 60-day rabies alert on September 30.

The reported alert area is bounded by SE Tressler Drive to the south, SE Federal Highway to the east and South Kanner Highway to the west. Officials are monitoring wildlife in the area. The available reports describe the raccoon’s capture location but do not explain who initially found it or what behavior led to its capture.

**What signs should you look for?**

⚠️ Unusual behavior or sudden aggression
⚠️ Stumbling, poor coordination or appearing disoriented
⚠️ Extreme weakness, unusual sluggishness or paralysis
⚠️ Excessive drooling or difficulty swallowing
⚠️ Seizures

These signs can also occur with other illnesses, so **you cannot diagnose rabies by looking at an animal**. An infected animal may even appear healthy or unusually friendly. Keep your distance and call Animal Control instead of trying to catch or help it yourself.

**If you are bitten or scratched:** Wash the wound immediately with soap and running water for **15 minutes**, seek urgent medical care and report the exposure. **Do not wait for symptoms.** Prompt treatment can prevent rabies; once symptoms develop, the disease is nearly always fatal.

📞 **DOH-Martin:** 772-221-4000
📞 **Martin County Animal Control:** 772-463-3211

If your pet has contact with a suspected rabid animal, contact your veterinarian immediately. Supervise pets outdoors and avoid leaving food outside that attracts wildlife.

Please remind children to never approach, feed or touch an unfamiliar animal—even one that seems tame or needs help. Share this with your neighbors so our community knows what to watch for. 🐾

🦝 See that opening? Wildlife does too.

This damaged soffit creates a perfect entry point for raccoons, squirrels, rats, bats, and other unwanted guests looking for shelter.

Wildlife problems aren’t just about removing the animal — finding and properly sealing the entry points is what keeps them from coming back.

If you notice damaged soffits, roof gaps, scratching in the attic, or noises at night, don’t wait until the damage gets worse.
