From an ordinary hillside to extraordinary curb appeal. 🌿🌸

Now THIS is what we call a transformation! ✨

What was once a steep, grass-covered front yard has been reimagined as a vibrant, layered landscape bursting with color, texture, and year-round interest.

By replacing a large stretch of turf with thoughtfully arranged flowering groundcovers, ornamental shrubs, evergreens, and complementary plantings, we transformed an otherwise overlooked slope into a beautiful focal point.

And the best part? Watching the landscape grow, mature, and become even more beautiful over time. 🌱

At Fine Earth Landscape, we believe every part of your property has potential—even the challenging spaces.

Because great landscape design isn't just about making things look better. It's about seeing what's possible.

That beautiful spring lawn? The work starts now. 🌱

Fall is one of the most important times of year for cool-season lawns in our area—and the window doesn't stay open for long.

For Maryland lawns like tall fescue, for example, it is recommended to complete fall seeding by around mid-October, giving new grass time to germinate and begin establishing before winter. Fall is also an ideal time to address soil compaction through core aeration.

It's a good reminder that great landscapes aren't created in a single season. The work we do today helps determine what your property looks like months from now.

If your lawn is thin, compacted, or still showing the effects of summer stress, now is the time to give it some attention.

A beautiful landscape isn’t one feature. It’s how everything works together. 🌿

From the moment you arrive to the moments spent relaxing in the backyard, every part of a property should feel connected.

This Fine Earth landscape brings together thoughtful planting design, manicured gardens, natural stone, inviting walkways, a pool and spa, outdoor cooking, privacy screening, and plenty of room to enjoy life outside.

But it’s the details between those features that make the difference—the transition from home to garden, the way plantings soften the hardscape, the balance of color and texture, and the way each space leads naturally into the next.

That’s what we mean when we say Design. Build. Maintain.

We don’t just create individual features. We create complete outdoor environments designed around the home, the property, and the way our clients want to live.

Which space would you spend the most time in—the pool, gardens, or outdoor kitchen? 👇

Designed for Today. Maintained for What Comes Next. 🌿

At Fine Earth Landscape, our purpose is simple: provide excellent service while creating a rewarding environment for our team.

And our niche can be summed up in three words:
Design. Build. Maintain.

We believe creating an exceptional landscape shouldn’t end when construction does. We want to be there from the first idea and initial design through installation—and for the years that follow.

Because landscapes are living, evolving environments. Plants mature. Seasons change. Properties grow into themselves. With thoughtful, ongoing care, your landscape can continue to look and perform as beautifully as it was designed to.
From transformation to long-term stewardship, we’re here for the entire life of your landscape.

That’s the Fine Earth difference.

Ready to create an outdoor space built to be enjoyed for years to come? Let’s start the conversation.

🍂 Summer may be winding down, but planting season is just getting started.

Now that Labor Day has passed and our attention begins shifting toward fall, it’s the perfect time for an important reminder:

Autumn is one of the BEST times of year to plant. 🌱

Why? While the air begins to cool, the soil retains warmth—creating favorable conditions for root establishment. Plants can devote more energy to developing their root systems without having to contend with the intense heat and moisture stress of summer. University of Maryland Extension recommends fall, winter (when soil isn’t frozen), and early spring among the best times to plant trees and shrubs, while early fall can also be an excellent planting window for many perennials.

That head start underground can mean stronger, better-established plants when spring arrives.

Fall is a great opportunity to add:
🌿 Trees & shrubs
🌸 Perennials
🌳 Screening & privacy plantings
🎨 Seasonal color
🌾 Texture and year-round interest
🌺 New or refreshed garden beds

And as these Fine Earth landscapes show, beautiful planting design is about more than simply choosing pretty flowers. Color, texture, scale, layering, bloom time, structure, and the right plant for the right place all work together to create a landscape that feels intentional throughout the seasons.

If there’s an area of your property that could use more color, greenery, privacy, or visual interest, now is the time to start planning.

Let’s get it planted this fall. Contact Fine Earth Landscape to get started.

AWARD SEASON, PT. 1 🏆🌿

What does an award-winning landscape actually look like?

With this year’s LCA Excellence in Landscaping Awards submissions officially complete, we’re looking back at some of the Fine Earth projects that have earned recognition over the years—and the people behind them.

Because an award-winning outdoor space is never the work of just one person.

It starts with clients who trust us with their homes and their vision. It takes designers who see the possibilities, crews who bring every detail to life, maintenance teams who keep these landscapes looking their best, administrative staff who keep everything moving, and trusted subcontractors who help us execute the bigger picture.

We’re incredibly proud of the recognition these projects have received—but even more grateful for the people who made them possible.

And now, we’re looking forward to seeing what this year’s projects can do. 👀

Think your yard could be our next award winner? Let’s create something worth recognizing. Contact Fine Earth Landscape to start your transformation.

Which past project caught your eye? Tell us in the comments. 👇
