Project Spotlight: California Club

The historic California Club is an LA icon that opened its doors in 1929 as a private social club for the city's "most diverse, accomplished and fascinating individuals."

Spectra Company was brought in to restore the clubhouse to its original beauty by preserving the historic architectural woodwork, plaster crown , windows and doors, chandelier, marble floor and plaster ceiling.

Project Spotlight: Apple Tower Theatre

Tower Theatre, designed by renowned theater architect S. Charles Lee, was the first motion picture theater in Los Angeles to be designed for the use of sound. After an extensive restoration over the last two years, it now serves as an Apple flagship store.

Spectra performed restoration on the early 20th-century terra-cotta façade, clock tower, and interior plaster. The ornate decorative plaster on the walls and ceilings of the opulent interior was meticulously removed, catalogued and salvaged, and later reinstalled in their original locations.

After many years as a vacant location, the 130 year old building at 100 W. Chapman Ave in Orange, CA, has been fully restored and re-opened as Urth Caffe. This much-anticipated addition to the community is the 4th building Spectra Company has helped to restore in the historic Orange Plaza. Spectra Company was the General Contractor and oversaw all of the historic rehabilitation, seismic mitigation and interior improvements.

Kettner Lofts & Chapman University: Preserving History, Building the Future

The historic John O’Day Commercial Building in the heart of San Diego’s Little Italy has been adaptively reused as a mixed-use project called the Kettner Lofts. The former auto repair garage now includes retail space and a contemporary apartment complex.

Spectra Company completed the relocation and restoration of two historic industrial sheds located on the campus of Chapman University to make way for new student housing. The historic fertilizer sheds originally supported operations of the historic 1918 Villa Park Orchards Association Packinghouse.
