There are many things to consider when it comes to landscaping your home. How will that space serve me. How will my space serve nature and the processes of life. The bird and butterfly migrations and the larger processes of the planet just doing what it was established to do, a closed ecological system.

It is time for us to step up to the plate and be a part of this natural process rather than helping to destroy it. We must look beyond the lawn for viable solutions. We must learn to live in our yards and gardens rather to treat it as an object to see from a distance. There is life happening at every stage and levels, that life is vital and important to the system as a whole. Cutting out or destroying one component, no matter how small has an effect on the other parts.

It takes just one individual to make a tremendous difference. To believe beyond self and to leave our comfort zone. I am a landscape designer with years of experience. My community needs me and my skillsets so does the trees and plants which are being eradicated daily. I would like to join the solution band, here is my way.

Most people look at their yard and see a chore. As a landscape designer i see composition and possibilities. My focus is about preserving and respecting aspects of the natural environment. I see many things over the years of my professional experience - usually a few problems the home owners as stopped noticing. This is not a mow and go interaction. This is about design.
- solving drainage problems
- building a focal point in the yard that gives the space definition, a garden bed here or there or a piece of sculpture in that unique spot
- choosing plants and elements that gives life, create a conversation piece, or simply a reason to exist
- add mood lighting to give a spark of life after sunset
- a tent structure here or a decorative totem post there, it all adds up
