Your primary bathroom should feel like a personal retreat.

Completed by the client and their father, this space was crafted to feel collected and distinctly personal. Every choice reflects their vision. Maple Masterpiece Cabinetry brings warmth and intention to the space, elevated by a Calacatta Idillio quartz to complete the composition. Light, refined, considered. The result is a bathroom that works beautifully and feels purposeful. A space designed around the way this family wants to feel each and every day.

Color is making a not-so-quiet comeback, and it should.

For years, safe and predictable neutrals have dominated home design. But lately we’re seeing more clients embrace their personalities and bring color back into the home. This blush onyx bathroom vanity is just one way we’re inspiring this trend to continue, because the homes that feel the most lived-in and personal, are the ones willing to introduce color in unexpected places.

Adopting color like this isn’t a bold choice, it’s a confident one. When you pair it with soft white cabinetry and polished nickel fixtures, it becomes the perfect moment where restraint meets personality. This is how you bring your home back to life: intention. One material that feels slightly brave. One color that says something about who lives here. When everything else is calm and considered, a single thoughtful choice becomes the whole story. It’s the difference between a kitchen that looks designed and a kitchen that feels like home.

“From the beginning, the goal was to create a basement that felt like a destination,” says KSI Designer . And for this returning client, that meant something more than a renovation; it meant rethinking what a lower level could actually be.

As a young, active family with a love of golf and a natural instinct to entertain, they knew what they needed was a place to practice year-round that doubled as a space to host. Somewhere that felt as considered and personal as every other room in their home. And after working with Sandra on their bathroom renovation, they knew just who to call.

The result is an atmosphere that feels layered and alive all at once. The kitchen centers the space, a large island anchoring the room and setting the tone for everything around it. The speakeasy bar earns its moment: dramatic arches, moody finishes, and a warmth that makes you stop and take it in before you even think about sitting down. And as the golf simulator comes into view, the energy shifts entirely. Suddenly, the basement is the place everyone wants to be.

From a casual weeknight with the family to a full house of guests, every decision in this space points back to the same idea: a space worth coming down to.

Designers see what clients envision. Clients don’t always see the same way.

“As designers, we spend our careers looking at floor plans and imagining how a home will feel in real life,” says KSI Designer . “Over time, you develop an instinct for scale, flow, and proportion. But homeowners don’t always have that same advantage. A floor plan can tell you dimensions...but neither fully answers a simple question: What will it actually feel like to live in this space?”

That’s where our partnership with TrueScale Studio changes everything.

When you walk through a full 1:1 scale floor plan in immersive visualization, suddenly it clicks. Appliance placement becomes clear. Storage opportunities reveal themselves. Wasted space materializes. And more importantly, you discover opportunities to make your home even better, all before construction starts.

This is what happens when technology and design expertise meet. When clients stand in the space with designers. When decisions get made with confidence instead of guesswork.

Thoughtful design doesn't impose a style, it listens to what you need and builds from there.

This rustic, traditional kitchen proves it. One cabinet line, two finishes: Masterpiece Martel cabinetry on Evercore in Warm Cottage and Overcast creates depth and interest without fragmentation. The perimeter and island speak the same language while creating visual rhythm. Layering happens in many ways: sometimes through materials, sometimes through color, sometimes through the subtle choices that make a space feel collected rather than uniform. Cambria Inverness Frost countertops flow throughout, grounding everything in practicality and durability.

The result is a kitchen that works hard and feels warm, just like the family that lives in it. Because good design respects the style you're drawn to.

When storage becomes display, everything changes. This glass cabinet proves it.

This cabinet works because nothing is random. Brass hardware, clean lines, glass doors that frame without framing. Every dish, every glass, every object belongs exactly where it sits. It’s not styling for the sake of it, it’s organizing for the way you actually live.

The items you use regularly and the ones you save for occasions. Dishes arranged by color. Everyday glassware that catches light. Whatever it is, when storage becomes display, the kitchen gains another meaning. Open storage that functions because it was designed to.

A cabinet this considered deserves to be seen.

One project. Multiple rooms. One vision.

Design doesn't exist in isolation. When a kitchen like this one is conceived with intention, it becomes the anchor for everything around it. The cabinetry speaks a language: in finishes, in hardware, in proportion. That language extends into the bathroom, echoes through the mudroom, and every room listens to the one next to it. Answering back with the same materials, the same palette, the same attention.

KSI Designers orchestrate this. They understand that cohesion isn't a bonus feature, it's the foundation. Paneled appliances disappear into the design, a workstation sink becomes sculpture, brass hardware catches light in every room because the vision was never just about one space. It was about a home designed as a whole.

Whether you're reimagining one room or an entire home, cohesion matters. When materials and details speak the same language, the whole space feels intentional. That's the power of thoughtful design.

A home bar is a statement, and this one doesn't whisper.

It says you gather, entertain, pour thoughtfully, and stand beside the people you love while doing it.

Marble rises behind glass shelves, a backdrop that demands attention. Brass hardware catches light. Glassware arranged not just for access, but for view. Everything you need, always at hand while simultaneously becoming part of your home.

Below, cabinetry in soft blue grounds the whole composition. Drawers with brass pulls closed what needs hiding. A generous counter becomes the stage where entertaining actually happens. The bar functions because it's designed for movement, for gathering, for the ritual of hospitality.

A space like this changes how you move through your home. Suddenly, the bar becomes the reason people linger.

What would you change if you could stand in your kitchen before it’s built?

When KSI Designer walked clients through their space at .studio, it put things in perspective. Appliance placement clicked. Storage opportunities revealed themselves. Wasted hallway space became possibility. One walkthrough unlocked clarity and confidence.

That’s what standing in the space does. It replaces guesswork with certainty. It surfaces opportunities early, when they’re still easy to embrace.

A focal point doesn't announce itself. It earns your attention.

What was once an over-the-range microwave is now a striking decorative hood that demands presence. "This instantly became the focal point of the kitchen," says designer Ambra Colaizzi Sgrignoli. The picture frame accent tile brings subtle color and texture while dark gray shaker cabinetry grounds the space. White quartz flows throughout, keeping the palette refined.

The result is a bold hood, a powerful focal point, and a completely reimagined kitchen.
