Stripe season is STILL ON!

You know those lines that make you drive by a house and go, "Dang, who mows THAT lawn?"

It's kind of crazy to think summer is already winding down.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who trusted Kennedy Lawn Care this season. Whether you've been with us for years or this was your first summer, I appreciate every lawn, every referral, every wave when I drive by, and every recommendation to your neighbors.

Running a small business isn't something I take for granted. I know you have options, so the fact that you choose us means a lot.

We're not done yet; we've still got plenty of mowing left this season, but I wanted to say thanks for letting us be part of your summer.

Between the Nebraska heat, foot traffic, dry spells, and constant mowing, your lawn has been through a lot. Aeration helps loosen compacted soil, while overseeding introduces fresh grass that fills in bare spots and thickens your turf for the seasons ahead.

We only perform aeration and overseeding on September 11th & 12th, so availability is limited. Once those dates are full, we'll be putting the aerator away until next year.

Most people wait until spring to worry about their yard, but the best lawns in the neighborhood are built in the fall.

They do not see the early starts, the route planning, the blade sharpening, the equipment maintenance, or the part where we have already sweated through a shirt before most people finish their first cup of coffee.

We get it. When summer hits Nebraska, it's tempting to cut the grass extra short so you can mow less often. But that's actually one of the fastest ways to invite crabgrass to the party.

A healthy lawn needs a little height to shade the soil and help hold in moisture. When you cut it too short, the sun bakes the ground, the grass gets stressed, and those pesky crabgrass seeds suddenly have the perfect place to move in. Once it takes hold, it's a pain in the butt to control and can stick around long after summer is over.

Keeping your mower blade a little higher this time of year can make a huge difference. Your lawn will stay healthier, greener, and much better equipped to crowd out weeds naturally.
