Tesla and Mercedes in the driveway, fifteen-year-old sink inside stinking up the whole kitchen. Years of spending on cars and trips, zero dollars into the one room our kids and guests actually use. Finally gutted the kitchen and found the reason it never got touched — pipes everywhere behind that wall, completely disorganized, leaking in more than one spot, an absolute mess nobody knew was back there. Crew tore it all out, ran new lines for the dishwasher, fridge, filtered water, everything properly connected this time.

Insurance sends an inspector to my house in Tamarac, and I nearly lose my policy on the spot. Big house, big family, older home, and suddenly I'm fighting to keep coverage. Turns out my AC was tapped straight onto the main disconnect panel outside, no branching circuit, just wired right onto the breaker, dead against code. Had to bring in an electrician, pull a whole new line through the house, install a sub panel since the original was way too small, and reroute the AC off that instead.

Wanted the laundry out of the hallway, no door, echoing into the living room of my Deerfield Beach house. Moved it to the garage, should've been simple. Garages don't have water or sewer, so they installed a pump just to push water up to the ceiling and tie into the old drain, tearing through walls to make it happen. Water heater tank was eating half the garage too, had to relocate that and re-pipe everything. Days of stress, not knowing if it'd work. House is finally quiet now.

Not my usual type of work. I stay away from dusty shower prep now — thinset, drywall, waterproofing… not my thing anymore. But this one was a simple 5x8 bathroom, nothing falling apart, clean setup. The funny part was the customer — dude from Turkey, super chill, helping all day. Passing tools, holding stuff, bringing tea. We were just working, talking, laughing the whole time. Nothing crazy on the install, just a solid day with good vibes.

House is so big I would have to climb stairs and walk to the master just to know what is happening on the other side. Same thought every single time I hire someone, what if they back a U-Haul up by the garage, out of view, and start clearing out everything I own. I never check while they are working, just pay the invoice when it is done. This time it was sinks not draining and a few leaks scattered through the house. Guy fixed it all, gone before that fear ever had a chance to take over.

I never thought a five dollar valve could threaten my entire policy. Insurance inspector walks through, finds one old shutoff under the sink, and suddenly he's talking about dropping me completely right as hurricane season starts. I kept explaining it wasn't even leaking, but he didn't care. All I could picture was my roof torn open in a storm with absolutely nothing behind me. Something this small should never have put my whole house on the line. I was drained, angry, and honestly scared for the first time about a policy I've paid into for years.

Guy told me he's a professional electrician. Part of a renovation I'd been dreaming about for years — a whole wall unit in my brand new house, built around an electric fireplace that cost a fortune. Everything installed, then I find out the outlet is 15 amps and the unit needs 20. Guy's up in my attic all day, running to the panel, installing new breakers, pulling wire, just to fix one outlet. That single line ended up costing me over two thousand dollars.

The install failed and I blamed the wrong guys. Storm drain well pump, three inch pipe, big industrial job. They spent the whole day connecting it and the pump refused to fire. I watched for hours convinced they were doing something wrong. They disconnect every pipe, break every sealing, rebuild the whole thing from scratch. Brand new pump, AMC, expensive as hell. Turns out it was defective before it even left the box.
