Nearly 99 football fields.

That's the equivalent of 5.69 million square feet of AGRU Green Geomembrane and geosynthetic materials COMANCO has installed on one of Florida's largest ongoing gypsum stack closure projects.

At approximately 70% complete, COMANCO's team continues advancing installation while maintaining the highest standards for safety, quality, and environmental stewardship. The distinctive green geomembrane is more than a visual highlight. It serves as a critical component of the engineered closure system designed to support long-term stormwater management, site stabilization, and environmental protection.

Led by Superintendent Ramon Irrizarry and Foreman Fredy Serrano, our 20-person crew has successfully navigated challenging site logistics, multiple contractor interfaces, and Florida's demanding climate to keep this project on schedule for completion in March 2027.

200,000 SF installed. ✅ High altitude. ⛰️ Unpredictable weather. ⛈️ One successful mining containment project. 💪

At a Colorado gold mine, COMANCO crews removed 215,000 SF of aging geomembrane and installed 200,000 SF of new 80-mil double-sided textured HDPE liner in an emergency overflow pond.

Rain, lightning, wind, standing water, and repeated dewatering efforts required constant adjustments to the work plan. Through changing conditions, the team remained focused on safety, quality, and attention to detail.

The customer's feedback says it best:

COMANCO was honored to attend the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Grand Opening of AGRU America's new Fernley 2 Pipe Plant in Fernley, Nevada.

President Mark Topp and Vice President of Administration Christine Topp joined industry leaders, partners, and community officials to celebrate this exciting milestone in U.S. manufacturing and infrastructure innovation.

The event included a thought-provoking panel discussion on "Building Water Security for America's Future," a guided tour of the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, and outstanding networking opportunities with professionals from across the industry.

COMANCO is especially proud to have partnered with AGRU America since its early years in the United States. Our longstanding relationship has been built on a shared commitment to quality, innovation, safety, and delivering lasting environmental and infrastructure solutions.

Phosphate gypsum pond closure requires more than installing individual layers. Each component must work together to support containment, drainage, water management, and long-term performance.

📍 On a current project in Central Florida, COMANCO crews are closing four pond areas within an active gypsum stack system. The work includes earthwork, geomembrane, geocomposite, high-strength geotextile, HDPE piping, aggregates, grassing, and erosion protection.

One of the project’s challenges required crews to pull and anchor high-strength geotextile across an entire pond under difficult field conditions. Crews developed a field-specific approach to complete the installation safely. COMANCO also coordinated on-site vendor training to prepare employees to operate the specialized equipment required for the work.

With the geotextile secured, crews are now deploying approximately 106,340 CY of sand over the material.

The work demonstrates how planning, training, and field experience come together when environmental construction presents conditions that require a different approach.

Investing in our workforce starts from the ground up. 🛠️

Through COMANCO’s Employee Training Program (ETP), field crew members recommended by their Superintendents take part in an intensive, hands-on Liner Technician Focus Week. Guided by experienced mechanics and lead techs like Jay Grenke, Leo Gutierrez, Roberto Zavaleta, and supported by team member Alberto Ambrocio, participants gain deep equipment and technical expertise, from wedge welding setup to extrusion gun teardowns and custom pipe boot fabrication.

ETP isn't just about technical mastery; it's about open dialogue, field safety, and building long-term career pathways from within. Congratulations to this round of ETP participants on taking the next big step in their professional development! 👷‍♂️

Did you know 80,000 square feet is nearly the size of 17 NBA basketball courts? 🏀

That's how much AGRU 60-mil textured HDPE geomembrane liner COMANCO recently installed for an evaporation pond supporting a large data center project in Idaho.

As data center construction continues to grow across the country, reliable water management infrastructure is becoming more critical than ever. Working in an active construction environment alongside multiple trades, our crew successfully installed over 80,000 SF of liner while maintaining COMANCO's commitment to Safety, Quality, and Service.

A unique feature of this project was the installation of custom HDPE depth markers permanently welded into the liner system to provide long-term water-level references for future operations and maintenance. From geomembrane welding and quality control testing to final inspections, every detail matters when building containment systems designed for long-term performance.
