🔥 ARDEX in Action — Proper Tile Installation Starts With the Substrate 🔥

A beautiful tile installation is only as good as what’s underneath it. On this project, we took the concrete substrate through a complete preparation process before a single tile was installed.

⚙️ Diamond grinding to mechanically prepare the concrete and remove contaminants and weak surface material.
🔧 Rapid-curing specialty epoxy for proper crack repair.
🧪 ARDEX P 52 Primer to prepare the substrate for the next step.
📐 ARDEX V 1300 to correct and flatten the substrate so it meets the requirements for the new tile installation.
🛡️ ARDEX FLEXBONE® uncoupling membrane to help protect the finished tile assembly from stresses and movement in the substrate.
🧱 ARDEX X 5™ used as our tile-setting mortar to complete the installation system.

The result: a properly prepared, flat and installation-ready substrate built in accordance with applicable ANSI A108 substrate preparation and tile installation requirements and industry best practices.

This is the part of a tile installation that eventually gets covered up—but it’s also the part that determines how the floor performs for years to come.
