A major transformation is underway at this nearly 100-year-old log cabin! 🏡

Our team is carefully replacing sections of deteriorated logs with new material, bringing renewed strength and longevity to this historic structure.

Every log must be thoughtfully selected, shaped, and fitted to work with the existing construction. It's a specialized process that requires patience, precision, and years of hands-on experience.

With the log replacement progressing, the next stages will include media blasting to remove the existing finishes and prepare the wood for a fresh coat of stain.

The details matter when it comes to protecting and preserving a log home.

Not every log home needs the same restoration process. The condition of the wood, the existing finish, and how that finish has weathered all help determine the right approach.

Here, Jamie points out peeling and flaking finish, mold and mildew, and small checks in the wood caused by prolonged exposure.

Because the existing coating has deteriorated beyond the point where a new finish can effectively adhere, our team will remove it down to bare wood before applying a penetrating paraffin oil stain.

It’s a great example of why proper log home restoration starts with evaluating what’s already there - not simply putting another coat over it.
