Heat is rolling in this week. Take it seriously. 🔥
We are looking at highs in the low 90s Tuesday through Thursday across West Michigan. If you are working outside or in a hot mechanical room, here is what matters:
Drink before you are thirsty. Water throughout the day, not just at lunch. If you are sweating hard, mix in something with electrolytes. Skip the energy drinks and heavy caffeine.
Take your breaks in the shade or AC. Cooling off for a few minutes is not lost time. It keeps you working safe all afternoon.
Know the warning signs. Heavy sweating, cramps, dizziness, headache, or nausea mean stop and cool down. If someone stops sweating, gets confused, or passes out, that is a heat stroke emergency. Call 911.
Watch out for each other. Heat hits people differently. Keep an eye on your crew and speak up if someone looks off.
Dress smart, pace yourself, and get home safe every night. That is what matters most.
Stay cool out there, everyone. 💧
