As golf continues to welcome more players and experience stronger financial health, many golf course owners are opening new courses or reinvesting in the golf course itself through renovations and restorations. While every golf course is unique, several common themes continue to shape the future of golf course construction. Read about some recent trends we are seeing. https://www.wadsworthgolf.com/5-trends-we-are-seeing-in-golf-course-construction/

Wadsworth Golf Construction continues to transform golf facilities across the country, from established private clubs to public courses serving entire communities. The goal remains the same: work alongside the owner, architect, and golf course staff to create results that enhance playability, aesthetics, maintenance and the overall golfer experience. Here are some recent projects that show the variety of our work. https://www.wadsworthgolf.com/recent-golf-course-construction-projects/

Maple Meadows, a DuPage (IL) County Course is one of the four major renovations we are doing this year in Chicagoland. This project follows our recent award winning renovation of Oak Meadows, also operated by DuPage County. Both projects were led by Greg Martin, ASGCA and we could not be more proud of each of them. https://www.chicagogolfreport.com/dupage-county-golf-courses-conservation/

It is always great to return to an original build and update it! Originally orchestrated by Ken Kavanaugh in 1992, Orchard Valley Golf Course (Aurora, IL) was completely renovated in 2025 under the direction of Greg Martin, ASGCA for the Fox Valley Park District. All features, including greens, tees, and bunkers were re-imagined while the irrigation and drainage systems were improved. OVGC has always been a special facility to Wadsworth Golf and will continue to be for many years! https://golfweek.usatoday.com/story/sports/golf/2026/08/20/orchard-valley-golf-course-illinois-reopens-renovation-chicago-area/91375567007/

It’s never a bad time to say thank you. So…a heartfelt “Thank you!” to everyone who has been a part of Wadsworth Golf Construction Company, including Brent Wadsworth and John Cotter, and our success over nearly 70 years. More than 1,200 golf course projects mean many architects, course staffers, superintendents and so many others have been part of our journey. We cherish the relationships we have developed!

It is always great to return to a project we have worked on previously. At Briarwood Country Club (Illinois), bunkers were renovated under the direction of golf course architect Jeff Mingay in 2022. Better Billy Bunker and Pro/Angle Bunker Sand were used to create these stunning bunkers that have vaulted Briarwood up the rankings of best courses in Illinois. All teeing complexes are planned to be renovated this fall. Superintendent Nathan Bolhous has the vertical edge bunkers dialed in!

Bella Ridge Golf Club, less than a one-hour drive from either Denver, Colorado or Cheyenne, Wyoming, is a new gem that Wadsworth was thrilled to construct. Built under the direction of course architect Art Schaupeter, ASGCA, and Troon Golf management, the new 18-hole course and practice facility was built using USGA recommendations for greens, CapillaryFlow and JM Evalith fabric in the bunkers and bentgrass playing surfaces. Schaupeter said, “Wadsworth’s work at Bella Ridge was exceptional! From upper management to the finish crew, their attention to detail was phenomenal."
