Less than 10 days till fall flowers arrive to the shop and we cannot wait!
Want to come along with us and plant your own fall containers this year?
Here is a cheat sheet of what to keep your eye out at your local garden centers!

1. mums - it wouldn’t be fall without them. Get 1-2 per pot!
2. Kale/cabbage - these come in both red/purple and white. We love them for texture!
3. Grasses - fountain grass or carex are two that we love to use for height.
4. Aster or Celosia for a pretty flowering plant!
5. Trailers - creeping Jenny is a great one!
6. pumpkins! - don’t forget to add your pumpkins and gourds! Don’t be afraid to place them right in the pot. We love to cut out a tiny pot of the mum and place them right in the center!

Stay tuned over the next 3 weeks as we start to plant our clients fall pots!

You’ll want to read this month’s newsletter because we’re talking about why fall is *actually* one of the best times to plant here in Ohio. 👀🍂

ESPECIALLY. 🌳 TREES. 🌳

Here’s something you might not know: trees are typically dug and wrapped at the nursery in the fall. That can mean a much shorter window between a tree leaving the ground at the nursery and getting planted in your yard.

Less time sitting around + cooler temperatures + less stress on the tree = a pretty great recipe for getting established. 🌳👏

And that’s only ONE reason fall planting gets our vote.

Click the link in our bio to read this month’s newsletter and learn more about why fall can be such a great time to plant.

It’s free landscaping tips and industry knowledge from people who do this every day.

Why would you NOT read it? 🤷‍♀️😂

We’re in this in between period where summer flowers are too pretty to rip out and fall is beating on the door. We find our minds lingering to pumpkins, hot cocoa, Ohio state football, and mums. All while trying to enjoy these last days of summer.

There are Mums at the store, are you buying them?

Want our advice? Put the mums down.
Late August/early September is a bit too soon. They won’t last until Thanksgiving, if they are blooming they might not even last till Halloween!

Plan to grab mums the last week of September and plant these instead!

Look out for our newsletter coming at the end of the week for more tips on what and when to be planting this fall.

Are you always dreading winter? Feeling sad that soon your garden will not be as beautiful and thriving?
It’s important to sprinkle plants that provide seasonal interest throughout your garden so it shines all year round!
Here are some of our favorites.

Oakland Hydrangeas - Their leaves burst with color throughout fall and their bark creates a fun texture in the winter!

Taxus - a super common choice but we love to use 1 or 2 of these in a perennial bed to prove that year round green we all desire. We also love it over boxwood because it berries and looks beautiful for Christmas!

Allegheny viburnum - white flowers in the spring/ summer, red berries in the fall, a beautiful deep green throughout mild winters

Honorable mentions: red twig dogwood + maiden Grass
