🌲 Day 2 Complete – Omo Ranch, El Dorado County

Wrapped up this two-day project today with 11 tree removals around the property.

The goal was to create more clearance around the home, reduce fuel loading for fire prevention, and get the property better prepared before winter storms arrive.

Several of these trees were in tight areas near the home, so careful climbing, rigging and controlled removal were needed to get them down safely.

Another big job knocked out by the crew. 💪🌲

Fire Prevention & Storm Preparation

Big day today! We completed 9 of 11 tree removals on this property.

The goal of this project is to help reduce fire fuel around the property while also removing trees that could become a concern during winter storms.

A lot of climbing, rigging, and teamwork went into today’s removals, especially working around the home and surrounding trees.

A little behind the scenes from yesterday’s job in Diamond Springs. 🌳
Two oak removals and three oak trims, including trees located close to structures.
Between the lift, climbing and controlled rigging, we were able to get everything taken care of safely and cleanly.

With wet winter weather coming, now is a good time to have questionable trees and limbs looked at.

🌳 Getting Ready for Winter in Diamond Springs

Today we helped a homeowner get ahead of the upcoming wet winter by addressing several oak trees around their property.

We removed 2 oaks that were leaning over structures, with one also showing signs of rot, and selectively trimmed 3 additional oaks to address potential hazards while keeping the healthy trees in place.

All branches were chipped and the chips were hauled away. The wood was cut into approximately 16-inch rounds and left for the customer to use as firewood. 🪵

Taking care of questionable trees before the winter storms arrive can make a big difference—especially when they're close to homes, garages and other structures.

Big Black Oak Weight Reduction in Diamond Springs 🌳

Today we worked on three mature black oaks in Diamond Springs, focusing primarily on weight reduction and protecting the surrounding structures.

One of the trees had a large, heavy limb extending directly over a structure. We removed that limb and selectively reduced weight throughout the trees while keeping their natural shape and canopy.

Proper weight reduction isn't about topping a tree or taking off everything you can. It's about selectively removing and shortening limbs to reduce excessive end weight while maintaining the tree's overall structure.

All three trees were climbed and pruned. 🌳🧗

Once the tree work was complete, all the branches were chipped. About half of the chips were left with the customer for ground coverage, and the rest were hauled away.
The larger wood was left onsite for the customer to process into firewood.

Another good day doing what I love and helping take some weight off these beautiful old oaks.
