Future builders in the making!

Cianbro recently visited Dayton Consolidated School in Dayton, Maine, to talk with K-5 students about careers in construction and even helped them gear up with real PPE. Safety helmets, gloves, and harnesses made for a fun (and safe) hands-on experience!

Cianbro team members and their families joined others from Maine’s construction industry for the Hike for Hope at the Bangor Waterfront.

Together, 186 participants raised more than $57,000 to support mental health and su***de prevention efforts for our industry.

Construction is built on strong people, but strength also means looking out for one another. Checking in. Speaking up. Letting someone know they’re not on their own.

We’re proud to have helped sponsor this event and stand with others in the industry to keep the conversation going and support those who need it most. Hike for Hope was presented by Associated General Contractors of Maine and the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention- Maine Chapter.

Our safety leadership came together recently for two three-day sessions at the Cianbro Health, Safety & Environmental Leadership Development at the Cianbro Institute. The focus: protecting people, strengthening leadership, and improving how we work every day.

The program explored high energy hazard recognition and direct controls, people first leadership and mental health awareness along with a variety of other topics to reinforce how safety, quality, and performance are deeply connected.

Thank you to all team members for your shared commitment to safety, accountability, and care on every job site.

Cianbro’s Pat Sughrue, senior corporate director of health, safety & environmental, recently testified before the U.S. House Committee on Education and Workforce on behalf of Associated Builders and Contractors ( ABC National), highlighting how the construction industry can proactively address emerging safety challenges.

“Enforcement alone cannot build an industry-leading safety culture. Prevention, innovation and collaboration are key,” Pat said.

We recently welcomed 30 students from Warsaw Middle School in Pittsfield for a Girls in Construction tour at Cianbro!

The group enjoyed a behind-the-scenes look at our Pittsfield campus, hands-on activities and demonstrations, and the chance to meet women working in skilled trades, engineering, and corporate roles.

Students also learned about career pathways, education, and growth opportunities showing that the future in construction is FULL of possibilities.
